Pony Express
The Schellborne Re-riders, members of the National Pony Express Association, will be involved in the 148th year anniversary re-ride on Saturday, June 20, 2008. The mail will be picked up on the White Pine/Eureka line at 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning and delivered in Ibapah, Utah, by 5:30 that evening. Anyone wishing to see this event should be at Schellborne station north of McGill, no later than 7 a.m., Saturday. It is possible that the mochila and rider may pass through Schellbourne within a two-hour time frame. It depends on when the mail is deleivered into the hands of the Re-Riders. This year's ride will include a satellite tracking device and by going to ponyexpressnationaltracking.com you will be able to use your computer to track the mail as it travels to St. Joseph, Mo. This site can only be accessed through Google.
