The White Pine High girls basketball team will open the first round of its Division Tournament against Whittell in Elko. White Pine is seeded second. The top two teams will advance to the State Tournament in Las Vegas.

If the Ladycats defeat Whittell, it will face the winner of the Yerington/Battle Mountain match up. The winner of that game advances to the championship game and earns a berth to State.

White Pine finished the regular season with wins over Lowry, 47-34, on Friday and Battle Mountain, 47-42, on Saturday.

Both games were on the road.

Against Lowry, the Ladycats held a 25-20 lead at the half and pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Buckaroos, 14-7.

Bailey Moore led White Pine with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

The Ladycats trailed Battle Mountain, 26-21 at the half and again had a big fourth-quarter, outscoring Battle Mountain, 17-7.

Debra Kingston and Amanda Allred each had 10 points for the Ladycats.
