Linda Lou Jones Rose was taken by our heavenly father on May 24th, 2013 in Ely, Nevada surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 3rd, 1945 to Glen Dale and Margaret Virginia Jones in Kimberly, Nevada. She graduated from White Pine High School in 1963. She started her family in Nevada, then Idaho and moved back to Nevada in 1979, raising her family there.
She proudly retired from the Nevada Department of Corrections after 16 ½ years, where “Roses” spunky attitude served her well. Those that knew her experienced her generous and giving heart. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and playing solitaire. She took pride in teaching her grandchildren all of these things with love. She took great pleasure in preparing a 10 course Thanksgiving Meal (one of the family favorites) that she did all herself.
Linda was preceded in death by her infant son Craig Kerner and her father Glen “Jones-ey” Jones.
She is survived by her mother Margaret Virginia Jones. Her brothers Jerry (Paula) Jones and Tony Jones. Her children Christine (John) Sizemore of Twin Falls, ID, Curtis (Mary)Kerner of Ely, NV and Kevin (Amy) Kerner of Twin Falls, ID. Her grandchildren Leslie, Gunner, Noah, Simon, Addy Mae, Gabriell, Jacob, Sidnee, Brock, Linzie and Boston. Her great grandchildren Forrest, Adrian and Hector.
There will be no funeral service per her request. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you send donations in her name to Hospice Helping Hands, 1580 Murry Street, Ely NV 89301.
The family of Linda Rose would like to thank William Bee Ririe Hospital and White Pine Care Center staff, along with Hospice Helping Hands – Beverly Cornutt.
