July 9

Report of a disturbance in Ely — Officer received a report of several individuals getting ready to fight. The individuals were contacted and were separated for the night.

Report of a suspicious vehicle in Ely — Officer located the vehicle, which had its back up alarm sounding while parked and unoccupied. The alarm was turned off.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of an individual who had driven onto private property and no appeared to be sleeping. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the area.

Report of a possible violation of a court order in Ely — Officer contacted the reporting party and reported that no violation had occurred.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had broken into the Commercial Club in Ruth. The reporting party stated that money had been removed from the business. Investigation continues.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he had lost his drivers license several days ago and believes someone else is using it. The incident was documented.

Report of an illegally parked vehicle in Ely — The vehicle was tagged for removal.

Report of a domestic disturbance in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over moving out of their apartment. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer located the vehicle and reported that the operator was issued a citation for speeding and unregistered vehicle.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that she is caring for a juvenile who is visiting for the summer. The parent of the juvenile called today and made a threat towards the juvenile. Reporting party is concerned for the safety of the juvenile. The incident was documented.

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — Officer located an individual in the area who was under age and had been drinking alcohol. The individual was identified as Kody L Griffin age 19 of Ely. He was arrested for minor in consumption.

July 10

Report of a disturbance in Ely — Officer contacted the individuals involved who were having a party. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend is causing a problem with her and her new boyfriend. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a dog problem — Officer patrolled the area, but the barking dog was not located.

Report of a business license violation in Ely — Officer received a report of a company doing business in the Ely area without a license. The company was contacted and advised. The company obtained the necessary license.

Report of a theft in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone entered into his vehicle and stole his spotting scope and binoculars. The theft had occurred several weeks ago. The incident was documented.

Report of vandalism in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone had written their names in the concrete that had recently been poured. The construction company was able to fix the vandalism.

Report of an accident in Ely — Reporting party stated that he had parked his vehicle and when he exited it a passing vehicle almost struck him. The reporting party stated that the vehicle had struck his mirror. Neither party requested further law enforcement action. The incident was documented.

Report of a dog problem — Officer located the dogs that were continually barking. The owner of the dogs will be issued a citation when located.

Report of a motorist assist — Officer assisted a motorist who was having tire problems.

Report of property damage in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown a rock at her vehicle causing the window to break.

Report of a suspicious vehicle in Ely — The vehicle was located and no violations had occurred.

Report of an alarm in Ely — False alarm.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Loren Betlach age 26 of Ely turned himself in on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During his booking it was discovered that he attempted to smuggle contraband and a dangerous drug into the jail. He was then charged with introducing contraband into a jail and possession of a dangerous drug.

Report of a suspicious vehicle in Ely — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a possible drunk driver in Ely — The area was patrolled and the vehicle was located parked and unoccupied.

Report of suspicious circumstances in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his vehicle and gone through its contents. Nothing appeared to be taken.

Report of a trespasser — When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a dog problem — Officer located the barking dog and contacted animal control to remove the dog, due to them constantly barking. The owner of the dogs was not at home and unable to locate.

July 12

Report of an open gate in Ely — Officer located a open gate on a closed business. The area was checked and the gate secured.

Report of a dog problem in Ely — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised him of the complaint. The owner took the dog inside to stop its barking.

Report of a possible fire in Ely — Officer reported that the smoke was from the train.

Report of an alarm in Ely — False alarm.

Report of a theft in Ely — Reporting party stated that he believes someone stole his phone while he was at a local bar.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that he had been inappropriately touched by several individuals. During the officers investigation the incident was unfounded.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Officer received a report of several juveniles running out into traffic. The area was patrolled, but no juveniles were located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he seen someone take an item from a yard. The owner of the yard was contacted and she advised it was a family member. No crime had occurred.

Report of a possible runaway in Ely — Reporting party stated that a runaway from AZ. was possibly in the Ely area. The individual was not located.

Report of stolen medication in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her medication. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest in Ely — David T. Delvecchio age 69 of McGill was arrested for felony DUI, driving revoked, failure to drive within marker lanes, open contained and on an Elko County warrant.

Report of a disturbance in Ely — Officer contacted the occupants of the residence and advised them to turn the music down. They complied.

Report of a disturbance in Ely — Officer received a report of an intoxicated person yelling at people. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the area and to keep the peace.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Officer received a report of an individual who had jumped from a moving vehicle. Officer contacted the individual who was receiving medical attention at E.R. She stated that she had gotten into an argument with her husband and jumped from the vehicle. The husband was contacted who related the same story. No action was taken.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her home. The residence was checked and no one was located.

Report of shots fired/arrest — Officer located two people riding a four-wheeler and were in possession of guns. Upon contact with the individuals one was identified as Matthew M. McCrum age 38 of Ely. During the officers investigation McCrum was a arrested for possession of a firearm while intoxicated. A juvenile that was with McCrum was released to a family member.

July 13

Report of a disturbance — Report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a domestic disturbance in Ely — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband came to her home and caused a disturbance. The reporting parties brother got involved and the ex-husband and brother began fighting. The parties separated and the ex-husband left the area. The incident was documented.

Report of an open door in Ely — Reporting party stated that a door was open on a closed business. Officer reported that the business was still open.

Report of a suspicious subject in Ely — Officer located the individual and reported that he was very intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had made several scratches on his vehicle.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Officer received a report of a juvenile setting fires. Officer located the juvenile and contacted his parent. A report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a disturbance in Ely — Reporting party stated that she could hear someone yelling. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of suspicious circumstances in Ely — Reporting party stated that several individuals were hanging around a truck. Officer contacted the individuals who were preparing the truck to sell.

Report of a shoplifter in Ely — Officer contacted the person suspected of being involved and reported that no evidence of shoplifting was found.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that a small child had entered into a home and moved things around and played with several items. The parent of the child was contacted and advised of the complaint. The incident was documented.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer located a female who had possible broken her ankle. Officer escorted her to the hospital.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a barking dog and it also running at large. Officer located the dog and identified the owner as Anthony Willis of McGill. Willis was issued a citation for barking dog and dog at large.

Report of fraud in Ely — Reporting party stated that she had received a telephone call from a individual who claimed to be from her banking establishment. The reporting party gave him personal information and then realized it was a fraudulent call. The incident was documented and she was advised to contact her banking establishment and report the incident.

Report of a parking problem in Ely — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle had left.

Report of a snake problem in Ely — Reporting party located a rattlesnake in her yard. The snake was destroyed.

Report of lost property — Reporting party stated that he lost a firearm near Ruby lake. The incident was documented.
