The 5th annual Ely Renaissance Farmers Market will commence August 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and continue each Saturday through September at the Renaissance Village. The highlight again this year will be Fallon “Hearts of Gold” cantaloupe and “tomatoes that taste like tomatoes should” all certified organically grown at Lattin Farms in Fallon, picked fresh and transported to Ely each week through the generosity of Gust Electric. We will also have gourmet jams, pasta sauce, and salad dressings. Nevada Natural Honey, California Walnuts and Almonds will also be available. The Renaissance Market will also have fresh picked peaches, pears and other fruits and vegetables from Utah’s Hayward Farms again transported weekly from Utah by Renaissance volunteers. Fresh bake goods will also return featuring gourmet breads and pastries from the Reno House of Bread. All of the bakery goods contain no preservatives and are made with honey instead of sugar. Of course, our market would not be the same without fresh homemade peach ice cream, flavored sun tea and Made in Nevada Salsa.
All of the produce mentioned above are purchased and sold by the Ely Renaissance Society. All proceeds from the market go towards Renaissance projects. In addition to the Renaissance Society, the market will have at least four additional local vendors selling locally grown fruits and vegetables, jam and specialty food items.
Coffee and fresh baked pastries will be available before the market opens through 11am and all beef hotdogs will be available later. Senior Nutrition coupons will be accepted at the Renaissance Society stand.
