August 27

Report of an attempted burglary in Ely — Officer received a report of a business alarm that had been activated. When officers arrived at the business one of the door had been pried open. Nothing had been taken, but damage had been done to the door and surrounding area. Investigation continues.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was acting out at school. Officer contacted the juvenile and his parent and the problem was worked out.

Report of a violation of a protection order — Reporting party stated that she has knowledge of an individual violating a protective order. Investigation continues.

Report of shots fired in Ely — Officer patrolled the area and made contact with the train depot workers who indicated that the noise came from the train.

Report of possible drug use in Ely — Officer received a report of an individual possibly using drugs. Officer made contact with several subjects who denied the allegation.

Report of a child custody problem in Ely — Officer made contact with the individuals involved and the child was returned to the mother.

Report of a violation of a court order in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no violation had occurred.

Report of a dog bite in Ely — Officer reported that a dog had bitten an individual. The individual received medical treatment at E.R.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over the custody of a child. The parties separated for the night.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were involved in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian in Ely — Officer located the individual and reported that the intoxicated pedestrian was able to walk him home.

Report of property damage in Ely — Reporting party stated that her vehicle was parked at a local motel and someone ran into it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the scene.

Report of a vehicle parked in the roadway in Ely — Officer located the vehicle, which was disabled. The vehicle was pushed out of the roadway by the operator and friends.

Report of a fight in Ely — The area was patrolled, but no fight was located.

Report of an illegally parked vehicle — The owner of the vehicle was contacted and advised to move the vehicle.

Report of a parking problem in Ely — Officer assisted with the parking problem at a local school.

Report of bad checks in Ely — The checks were collected from the local business establishment and turned over to the District Attorneys Office for collections.

Report of suspicious circumstances in Ely — Reporting party stated that she heard someone in the crawl space at her apartment building. The area was checked, but no one was located.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed a juvenile stole a bicycle. The investigation continues.

Report of a barking dog in Ely — The area was patrolled and no barking dogs were located.

Report of fraud in Ely — The reporting party claimed someone had used his credit card fraudulently and without his permission. The investigation continues.

Report of a bad check in Ely — A local business reported receiving a check returned for being drawn on an account with non-sufficient funds. The author of said check was contacted and agreed to take care of the balance.

Report of an arrest in Ely — 23- year-old Jilberto Salas, of West Wendover, was arrested in a local business for an outstanding warrant.

Report of child abuse in Ely — The reporting party believed there were bruises on her child after receiving said child from another person. The child was examined, but no bruising was found.

Report of an accident in Ely — While driving on a roadway, Richard Long was struck from behind by another vehicle being driven by Danny Turner Jr. of Ruth. Turner was issued a citation for following too closely.

Report of a burglary in Ely — The reporting party claimed an unknown person broke into her residence and stole some prescription medication. The investigation continues.

Report of a hit and run in Ely —The reporting party claimed another person stuck his vehicle and then fled the scene. The investigation continues.

Report of harassment in Ely — The reporting party claimed a subject was following her and taunting her. The reporting party was advised of the process of obtaining a stalking/harassment order.

Report of a bad check — A local business reported receiving a check that was returned non-sufficient funds. Deputies were unable to locate the author. The check was forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

Report of an accident — Debbie White, of Ruth, was driving on a roadway when Heaven Bernacchi, of McGill, failed to yield the right of way, and struck White. Bernacchi was issued a citation and a report was completed.

Report of a welfare check — Deputies were unable to locate the subject.

Report of an intoxicated subject — The reporting party claimed an employee had been drinking and was being removed from the workplace, but the subject wanted to drive home. When the deputy arrived, co-workers agreed to give the employee a ride home.

Report of harassment in Ely — The reporting party claimed a family member had been threatening to batter him. The reporting party didn’t feel the threat would be carried out, but requested it be documented.

Report of a possible stabbing in Ely — Officer received a report of a person being stabbed. Officer patrolled the area and nothing was located.

Report of a possible burglary in Ely — Officer reported that the business was checked and no crime had occurred.

Report of an injury to property in Ely — Reporting party stated that his tire had been cut on his vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a trespasser in Ely — Reporting party stated that someone has been entering into a vacant home. The home was checked and secured.

Report of a fire in Ely — The report was given to Ely Fire Department.

Report of an injury to property in Ely — Reporting party stated that his tire had been cut on his vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer received a report of a large amount of garbage that was accumulating at a local residence. The owner was contacted and advised to dispose of the garbage at the landfill.

Report of an arrest in Ely — Officer reported that Brandon C. Neibauer age 27 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was captured and taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that an individual was threatening him and talking bad about him on Facebook. The individual was contacted and advised to stop the harassment.

Report of a violation of a protection order in Ely — Officer investigated the incident and reported that no violation had occurred.

Report of a fight in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over childcare. The parties were separated and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a dog attack — Reporting party stated that he was attacked by a dog running at large. Officer located the dog and identified the owner as Lani Hawkins of Ely. She was issued a citation for dog at large and vicious dog.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that an individual came to her place of work and threatened her. Officer is attempting to locate the individual who made the threats.

Report of a juvenile problem in Ely — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were knocking over traffic cones. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances in Ely — Officer located several individuals carrying around bike parts. During the officers investigation to determine if the parts were stolen, Jerry Burton age 46 of Ely was arrested for prohibited person failing to register and obstructing a police officer.

Report of a domestic disturbance in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over child custody. The parties came to an argument and were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Officer made contact with an individual who was threatening to harm himself. He was taken to E.R. for assistance.

Report of a welfare check — Officer made contact with the individual who had accidentally burned his feet. He was taken to E.R. by a family member.

Report of harassment in Ely — Reporting party stated that an individual was posting comments about her on Facebook. The incident was documented.

Report of a found purse in Ely — The purse was returned to the owner.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved and one of the individuals was asked to leave the residence.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual was removing items from her yard. Officer contacted the individual who stated that the items belonged to her Investigation continues.

Report of fireworks in Ely — The area was patrolled, but no fireworks were located.

Report of hit and run to a building in Ely — Reporting party stated that a vehicle had struck a local business establishment and then fled the scene. The vehicle was not located.

Report of a 911 hang up — Officer reported that no crime had occurred, possibly a bad phone line.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an injured dog — Officer received a report of a dog that was hit by a vehicle. The owner of the dog was contacted and advised.

Report of cows in the roadway — The cows were removed.

Report of a problem with a subject in Ely — Reporting party stated that a customer at a local bar was very intoxicated and fell down. The customer was provided a ride home by a friend.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual who was fine.

Report of a noise disturbance in Ely — Officer contacted the parent of the children who were causing the disturbance. The children and parent were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a custody problem in Ely — Officer contacted the parties involved and advised them to follow the child visitation order set by the presiding court.

Report of a found wallet in Ely — The wallet was placed into lost and found.

Report of property damage in Ely — Reporting party stated that the mirror on his vehicle had been damaged. The individual who damaged the mirror will be contacted.
