Robinson Nevada Mining Company has recently developed a local Corporate Social Responsibility group, comprised of dedicated volunteers. This group will address donation requests from the community, and welcome new employees and their families to the RNMC family and White Pine community. They will also increase RNMC awareness through participation in community activities such as the free train rides in August and youth activities at Arts in the Park.
“As the largest employer in a region that is familiar with “boom and bust” cycles, Robinson does its part to be a good neighbor and contribute on issues that are important to the community. The company believes in assisting and encouraging sustainable growth that allows families to live and work in the region. Robinson strives to have a positive impact on the quality of life in the local communities.” (KGHM International 2013)
The local CSR Group will gather donation requests; select requests that will best serve the residents of White Pine County, and present them to RNMC managers for final approval. CSR Group meets the first Monday of each month to discuss written requests received. The email address that requests should be sent to is Robinson.CSR@kghm.com.
To date, CSR Group has been instrumental in donations made to the following:
A Kindle Fire and kitchen basket for Shoshone Health Fair, Snacks for Library Story hour, water bottles for the soccer program, golf balls to participants in the Veteran’s Golf Tournament, a cash donation to McGill Revitalization Association for renovating the Kennecott Baseball Field, 20 cases of water for walkers at Relay for Life 2013, School supplies and computers to local schools, sewing machines for Lund High School Life Skills Program, and a sponsorship for Take it to the Lake, as well as a chute sponsorship at the White Pine Bull riding event 2013.
