Raymond Michael McIntosh, age 59, formerly of Ely, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2013. Mike and his wife Caroline recently moved from Dayton to Las Vegas. Mike was born in Ely on February 20, 1954 to Gile B. and Josephine Henriod McIntosh and grew up in McGill and Ely. He graduated from White Pine High School in 1972 and began his long career in mining at Kennecott Copper Corporation and worked as an assayer at several Nevada mines. Mike ended his career as a correctional officer at Ely State Prison and Warm Springs Correctional Center.
Mike loved dogs, classic cars, jam sessions with his brother, family and friends, and any opportunity to hunt and fish. His absolute joys in life were his two children Haley and Jeremy.
Mike is survived by his wife Caroline, former wife Robin Hansen, daughters Haley McIntosh (Danny Demsky) and Amanda Hilton (Bruce Eldridge), sons Jeremy McIntosh (Stephanie Powers), Burton Hilton and Walker Hilton (Heidi), grandchildren Katherine and Grant Eldridge, brother David McIntosh (Patti), sister Sheree Warner (Joe), nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and fifty-five first cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jolene Christensen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Vista Chapel on Saturday, September 28, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at the Postal Palace.
