On Sept. 28, Great Basin National Park’s “Dark Rangers” are partnering with the Nevada Northern Railway for the Star Train for an exciting evening of astronomy.
Join Great Basin’s “Dark Rangers” as they look at and explain interesting astronomical topics to passengers aboard the Nevada Northern Railway – including trivia and prizes. Once the train is out of town all passengers will have a chance to disembark the train where the park rangers will have their telescopes set up. The park rangers will be showing the incredible sights in the night sky through their high-powered telescopes before passengers re-board and ride the train back to the station.
The train departs the station at 7:00PM at the Nevada Northern Railway, 1100 Avenue A, Ely, Nevada. It is priced as a regular excursion: $27/adults and $16/children, with applicable discounts for White Pine & Eureka residents, AAA members, NNRy members and vets and active military.
Information and tickets are available through the Northern Nevada Railway at (775) 289-2085 or www.nnry.com.
