From the Zoo to You

The weekends of Nov. 2-3 and Nov. 9-10, The Zoo volunteers will once again be taking sign-ups to donate your Ridley’s Advantage Card points. We thank all of you who have participated in the past and we hope for your support again this year.

The points must be renewed every year. The demand for the programs that the Zoo offers has increase dramatically, i:e:, the low cost spay and neuter program which after you pay $30 for a cat and $60 for a dog, The Zoo picks up the balance of the real cost. Also, our animal adoption program which consists of The Zoo having to board an animal up to 1 month or more until they are adopted (if foster care is not available). The Zoo pays for their entire care while they are being fostered also. Every one of the animals must have their shots and be spayed/neutered.

We are so grateful to all the people who donate items to our store also and to our Vets and Cedar Grove for their total support.

The benefit of the Advantage points to The Zoo is that they are converted into a monetary amount which is given to The Zoo quarterly which amounts to half of our income, but that depends on how many points are donated. Our store income covers our rent, utilities, insurance, but the points donated are for the rest of the bills i.e.: Vet bills, supplies, food, animal laundry, animal boarding and on and on.

If we are to continue providing these services without having to turn anyone away, we need your help.

We are making a difference in this community; more and more people are realizing that spay and neuter is the answer to the problem of unwanted, mistreated and abandoned animals.

If we have helped you in the past or you support what we are doing, please, help us.

Thank you so much,
Brenda Alexander
