The opening of the Christmas season will begin Nov. 29 with the Christkindl pageant.  This traditional ceremony will take place beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sculpture Park on the south side of the 600 block of Aultman Street.

Bailey Rose1Entertainment will be provided by the Pure Talent Dance Studio, the choir of the Learning Bridge Charter School and the Hometown Band. The lighting of the community Christmas Tree will culminate the event.

The Christkindl angel this year will be Bailey Rose, a White Pine High School Sophomore. She is active in drama, having recently played the lead in the WPHS Drama production of “Wait Until Dark”.  Bailey enjoys the small town friendly atmosphere of Ely.
Presley Skadburg, Brenley Skadburg, and Ethan Sandoval will join Bailey as her Christmas Court.
Vendors from various non-profit groups will line the downtown streets and will begin selling their wares at 4:15 p.m.

The keys to the treasure chests located at thirteen Ely businesses will be distributed after the lighting of the Christmas Tree.  Those treasure chests contain gifts provided by the businesses.

Only some of the keys will open the chests, so holders must visit all the businesses.  One of the locations for the treasure chests is the Art Bank at 399 Aultman Street which will have its grand opening following the Christkindl pageant.
