RENO — An Elko man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of another man on the South Fork Indian Reservation.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports that 35-year-old Joshua Dooley allegedly shot Jacob Tybo while the two were drinking alcohol at Tybo’s home last Wednesday night.
According to the criminal complaint, the two members of the Te-Moake Tribe of Western Shoshone started arguing after Dooley accused Tybo of stealing his cellphone and being interested in his girlfriend.
The complaint says Tybo became upset by the accusations and pointed a shotgun at Dooley’s head.
Dooley grabbed a rifle and pointed it at Tybo.
Authorities say Tybo warned Dooley he’d shoot him if he didn’t get off the phone, but Dooley shot Tybo in the head first, killing him.
