The Ely Times is moving to a new office at 515 Murry St. The new office received a certificate of occupancy after passing a fire inspection Monday morning.
The Times had spent the last five months using the White Pine Chamber of Commerce as a temporary office during the move. The newspaper had spent 15 years at its previous office on 11th Street.
So good to see the “old lady” hanging in there. From June of 1942 to July of 1945 I sold the “Ely Daily Times” downtown on main street where I and the Pavalakis boys made sure everybody there were kept up with the news of the War, even the miners, cowboys, ranch hands, and others scattered through the 20 plus saloons. Back then the Times was printed on an old flatbed letter press in the back room of the office on main street across l from Walgreen Drugs. Keep up the good work.
