Nevada is celebrating its sesquicentennial birthday on Oct. 31. To help celebrate, the Beta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma has chosen to create a project to educate our town, our students and tourists about the 150 years of history in White Pine County.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an honorary society of women educators who are committed to excellence in education. The members of Delta Kappa gamma will be creating literature about the history of education in White Pine County to be used in local classrooms and will be available for the community to enjoy.

Delta Kappa Gamma will also be hosting a History Festival the week of Oct. 31. All businesses, community organizations and individuals are invited to contribute to this project.

All areas of history will be welcomed at the historical festival – railroad, mining, ranching, business, organizations, or any area you choose to contribute.
