Report of an open door — Officer reported while patrolling the Ely area he located a open door on a vehicle. The vehicle was checked and the door secured.
Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the mother and child and reported that they were fine.
Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that while his vehicle was parked at a local business someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene.
Report of a dog bite — Officer assisted Ely Animal Control with a dog that was accused of biting a person.
Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that while he was out walking several dogs ran at him and jumped on him. The area was patrolled, but the dogs were not located.
Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she was having problems with a subject. When officers attempted to contact the reporting party she was not available.

Report of a suicidal subject — Officers made contact with the subject, and later transported her to the hospital.
Report of a truancy — A child was deemed a habitual truant and issued a citation. A report was completed and submitted to the District Attorney’s Office.
Report of a vehicle violation — The reporting party claimed a vehicle was improperly parked in a handicapped parking spot. The vehicle was found to be properly parked.
Report of fraud — The reporting party received a phone call from a subject claiming she won a large amount of money. The reporting party was advised the phone call was spurious.
Report of an animal problem — The reporting party claimed to have seen two horses that were dead and possibly cut open. Upon investigating, the officer found the capes of an elk and deer that were several years old
Report of a dog bite — The dog catcher reported being bitten by a dog.
Report of a noise disturbance — The reporting party complained about a dune buggy creating a disturbance. The area was checked, but the vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party observed a car park and the driver get out and run away. The driver was later located, who claimed to be visiting a friend who lived nearby.

Report of a large amount of smoke — the area was patrolled and it appeared that the smoke was coming from a fireplace.
Report of a theft — Reporting party observed several individuals on his property and believes that they might be responsible for some thefts that had occurred in the past. Officer contacted the individuals who denied stealing anything. They were trespassed from the property.
Report of vandalism — Officer reported that someone had hung several speed limit signs over several stop signs. The signs were taken down.
Report bof a battery — Reporting party stated that he had been struck by a individual several times while he was outside working on his car. The reporting party only wanted the incident documented.
Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he had rented a motel room for a week, but had checked out early. The motel manager wouldn’t refund his money that was owed. Officer contacted the motel manager who explained the way long term renting worked. Officer reported that no crime had occurred.
Report of a injured deer — The area was patrolled, but the deer was not located.
Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that she arrived to drop off her children for visitations, but the childrens father never arrived to pick them up. The incident was documented.

Report of a missing person — Reporting party stated that his elderly wife left the residence several hours ago and hasn’t returned home. Officers and neighbors searched the area, but she was not located. A organized search will be conducted in the daylight hours. Officer reported that the following day a extensive search was conducted with numerous volunteers. The elderly female was located at a friends home and she was in good health.
Report of a reckless driver — Officer located the vehicle which was parked. They contacted the operator who advised he was taking on his cell phone when he was driving. The operator was advised of the laws about cell phone use while driving.

Report of a noise complaint — Officer received a report of several vehicles honking their horns. The area was patrolled, but the vehicles were not located.
Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted a individual who’s vehicle had ran out of gas.
Report of a civil problem —Reporting party stated that he obtained fuel at a local gas station and now his vehicle doesn’t run properly. The reporting party believes that there was water in fuel. He was a advised it was a civil problem and to pursue the matter in small claims court.
Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had cut one of his tires on his vehicle. A person of interest was interviewed who denied causing the damage.
Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that she had backed her vehicle into a parked car. The parties involved exchanged information and the Sheriff’s Office was not contacted. Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the individual who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The individual was passed out on the sidewalk. A family member was contacted who took him home.

Report of a barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the problem.
Report of an accident — Ryan Baker of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up from a parked position. He failed to see a vehicle traveling on Ave N being operated by Cyle Matson of Ely. Baker’s vehicle struck Matson’s vehicle causing damage. A accident report was completed and Baker was issued a citation for unsafe backing.
