White Pine County School District held its annual spelling bee, Thursday, March 20th at David E. Norman Elementary School.  Participants included students from David E. Norman Elementary, McGill Elementary, Lund Elementary and Baker Elementary in grades 1st through 5th.

The first, second and third grade spellers are made up of teams and can work together to help spell the words correctly.  Fourth graders spell individually, but can use a white board to help them spell the words; fifth graders also spell individually, but are not allowed to use the white board.

The winners were: first grade winners from David E. Norman Elementary, Megan Dunn, McKennah Barney and Timothy Baker. Second grade winners from David E. Norman Elementary, Katie Shen, Jaycee Harber, Naima Kaamasee.  Third grade winners from David E. Norman Elementary, Anja Hansen, Allison Padilla, Katrina Soutcott. Fourth grade winner was Elizabeth Little-Green and the fifth grade winner was Mia Kemmler.
