APRIL 30, 2014

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on his vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual keeps challenging him to fight. Officer is attempting to locate the individual involved.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over a purse. The parties were advised to keep the peace and they separated for the night.

Report of unsafe living conditions — Reporting party stated that her family members are raising their children in unsafe living conditions. Officer contacted the individual involved and reported that the home was dirty. DCFS will be contacted and involved in the investigation.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The occupant of the vehicle was contacted and advised to leave the area.

Report of a dog problem — Officer located the dogs running at large and they were taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled, but the barking dog was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance at a local apartment complex. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a barking dog — The area was checked, but no barking dogs were located.

Report of an alarm — The alarm was set off by an employee.

Report of fraud — The local business owner claimed a male subject fraudulently purchased merchandise with a credit card that was invalid.  The investigation continues.

Report of non-injury private property accident — Anthony Gregersen, of Ely, was backing into a parked position in a parking lot, when he struck an adjacent parked vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed someone stole a tire from the back of her vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a truancy — A child was deemed a habitual truant and will be issued a citation for missing three or more days of school, unexcused.  A report was completed and will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party claimed she had been battered by her boyfriend, who then tried to hit her with his vehicle.  The boyfriend was located driving a vehicle, identified as 19 year old Schyler Roberts.  Based on the investigation, Roberts was arrested for DUI, domestic battery, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed she heard a rumor someone wanted to damage her vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The subjects were located and found to be dissenting in regards to their current connubiality status.  Both agreed to separate for the evening.

Report of an accident — Officer assisted the Nevada Highway Patrol with a vehicle accident on US 93 North.

Report of a lost iPod — A report was completed.

Report of a citizens assist — Reporting party had locked her combination to her safe inside her safe .Officer assisted the reporting party with filling out the proper paperwork to gain access.

Report of an accident — Sarah Bills of Ruth was operating a vehicle and failed to maintain her lane of travel. She drove her vehicle onto a retaining wall. A accident report was completed.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that he is receiving texts messages and the sender is challenging him to fight. Investigation continues.

Report of a bad check — The check was collected and turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for collections.

Report of harrasment — Reporting party stated that while she was at a local park she felt threatened by several individuals that were present. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from the reporting party.

Report of a parking problem — Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle and the vehicle was moved.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that his dog was killed by another dog. The owner of the dog was contacted and identified as Carol Holland of Lund. She was issued a citation for dog at large.

Report a 911 hangup — Officer spoke to the caller who stated that she was having a problem with her husband. Officer reported that no action was taken.

MAY 3, 2014

Report of an abandoned child — Reporting party stated that a small child had been left at a local gas station. Officer reported that the child had gotten out of the vehicle to use the restroom without the mother knowing. The mother returned and picked up her child.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that she received a text message from an unknown person stating she was to send her rent money to her. Officer contacted the sender of the message who stated that she had sent the text message to the wrong number.

Report of a vehicle problem — Officer contacted an individual who was riding a go-cart. He was advised to ride it elsewhere.

Report of an accident — Russell Beckley of Ely was operating a vehicle and was entering onto Great Basin Blvd. from Ave. M. As he did so he failed to yield to a vehicle being operated by Shalene Cazier of Ely. Beckley’s vehicle struck Cazier’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Buckley was issued a citation for failure to yield.

Report of a barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and warned

Report of a dog at large — Officer reported that the owner of the dog was identified as Charles Coleman of McGill He was issued a citation for dog at large.

Report of problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his roommate was intoxicated and causing problems. Officer contacted the roommate who left the home for the night.

Report of a graffiti problem — The report was given to the BLM.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they gave conflicting statement on what happened. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of harassmsnt — Reporting party stated that he had dated an individual and now she is sending him text messages asking him to leave her alone. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stop contact with each other.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that Jacob Hallet age 22 of Ely was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his wife.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the individual who had injured his leg, but requested no medical assistance.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted one of the parties involved who stated that he had been arguing with his son. The son had left the area before officers arrived.  No action was taken.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they were trespassed from the casino. The parties involved had been arguing over a drink the bartender had severed.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had been involved in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that she had been battered by her boyfriend. The battery had occurred several days prior to the report being filled.  Investigation continues.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound

Report of illegal dumping — Officer had identified the person responsible for dumping his trash on a dirt road and the individual will be issued a citation when located.

Report of possibel explotaiion of the eldery — officer contacted the parties involved and reported that the grandson had moved into his grandmother’s home and was taking advantage of her generosity. The grandson moved out and left the area.

Report of vandslism — Reporting party stated that someone had cut a tire on his vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of a possible burglary — Reporting party stated that he located an open door on a vehicle. The vehicle was checked and a stereo was missing from inside. The owner was notified.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that her neighbor’s dogs bark constantly. A citation for barking dog will be issued to the neighbor when located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was working on a vehicle causing a noise disturbance. Officer contacted the responsible party who apologized for his actions.

Report of a found wallet — The wallet was returned to the owner.

Report of vandalsim — Officer reported that someone had placed graffiti on a building located on Squaw Peak. Investigation continues.

Report of vandailsm — Reporting party stated that several kids riding bikes near his home had damaged some siding. Officer is attempting to locate the juveniles.

Report of possible child abuse — Officer received a report of a child that had been burned by a curling iron. Officer interviewed the child who related how the injury had occurred. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jesse R. Paez age 28 of Ruth was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court.

Report of illegal dumping — Officer patrolled the area, but the item was not located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into his home and stole a backpack that had a large amount of money in it. Investigation continues.

Report of a 911 hangup — Officer contacted the caller who stated that he had accidently dialed the wrong number.

Report of a stolen vehicle — Officer received a report of a stolen vehicle that had been taken out of Nye County. Officer located the vehicle traveling on US 6. Officer reported that the vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as David Eubank age 52 of Vidor, TX. Eubank was arrested for possession of stolen property.

Report of a cat problem City—reporting party stated that a cat keeps coming into his yard. Animal Control was advised.

Report of reckless driver—Reporting party stated that people constantly speed past her home. The area will be patrolled.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that several tools had been stolen from his garage. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident—The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol

Report of an accident—Mary Gault of Ruth was operating a vehicle traveling on US 50 and was turning onto County Road 44. Jody Bradshaw of Ely was operating a vehicle and was stopped at a stop sign. Gault made an improper turn and collided into Bradshaw’s vehicle. An accident report was completed and Gault was issued a citation for driving right side required.

Report of public nusance—Officer made contact with the occupant of the home and advised him to clean up the accumulated garbage and debris in his yard.

Report of illegally parked trailer— The owner of the trailer was contacted and advised she could not store it on a public street.
