Kimberly Kay Reed was born April 23, 1974 to Duane J. and Deborah Kay Reed. She was the second of six children and the oldest daughter. She left this earthly life, too early, on May 22, 2014.
Kimberly, Kim, Kimmy. The fun sister, the favorite aunt, the loving daughter, the zany co-worker, the party maker, the adventurous traveler. She was also brilliant, ambitious, hard working, a loyal friend, and generous giver. She lived life with a smile, and passed it on to everyone she met.
Kim loved pets, especially her dogs. She enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, aliens, softball, her family, her job, socializing with friends, and watching football. She loved being silly, and dressing up (Halloween was her favorite holiday). She enjoyed music. Mary Chapin Carpenter was her favorite artist. She loved to set up Slip-n-slides (for the kids) and creative BBQ’s. Kim was both spontaneous and thoughtful. She looked for opportunities to have fun and was always on the lookout for gift ideas for the children in her life. Sometimes when she found something that was “just too cool”, she couldn’t wait for the birthday or holiday; she would just have to give it right away. She didn’t just “give” a present, she would take the time to jump right in and help the child learn and play with the gift.
She is survived by her parents, and her siblings, Brad Reed, Erin & Joe Doty, Jamie & Joe Mondragon, Russell & Heidi Reed, Amanda Reed, and, her long time friend and partner Merry Bostic, a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her paternal grandmother Shirley Reed, maternal grand parents Herb and Mildred Ridge. She is also survived by her daughter, who was the absolute center of her life, Caitlin Wuckert Ingram.
Kim was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Donald Reed.
True to Kim’s loving, giving, generous nature, she elected to be an organ donor. Her gifts will last long into the future. The things she did and the way that she lived has provided many joyous times for many with her, and will continue to bring smiles and fond memories.
Kimberly will be missed dearly, remembered fondly, loved always, and thought of often.
There will be a visitation Friday, May 30 at the LDS Stake Center in Ely at 10:00 a.m. with the Memorial Services following at 11:00am. Immediately following the funeral Kimberly will be transferred to the Ely City Cemetery for burial following the dedication of her grave.
