The White Pine High School Athletic Boosters would like to thank all participants this year that helped us make our year a success.

We set some goals this year and through member’s dedication, managed to achieve most of them. To share a few with you, we wanted to start a better booster sponsorship program complete with levels of membership and benefits for joining. We are currently working on a brochure that will be available for distribution for the BFD (BBQ, Fun, Dance) that will be held in the county park on July 3. We started the program this year and hope to improve on it as each year goes by.

Another goal was to have an Athletic Advisory Committee, where members would communicate problems and concerns as parents with the school and try to come up with better solutions.

We formed a committee also that considers school-wide requests for help from the boosters for equipment needs for the benefit of the majority of the student athletes.

The Concessions Committee was formed in an effort to make this part of our group run more smoothly.

Although our group of parents is small, we feel like we made large strides in positive ways at helping our athletic students achieve their goals.

We are going to continue to work with the medical professionals in this area to provide free physicals for students. This project, as of today, is scheduled for August 2 from 8 a.m. to noon at the White Pine High School. more information will be coming out at a later date.

The boosters presented Allison Huntington and Nicholas Johnson with Athletic Booster Scholarships  for the 2013-2014 school year. Congratulations to both students, we wish you the best with your futures.

As this season comes to a close, the boosters voted to spend money on equipment for the following: five sets of girls golf clubs, volleyball standard pads with Ladycats on them, a spotlight, a Magic Jump’s Batting Cage and an Eagle Eye track timing system.

We continue to match funds that teams earn for equipment and uniforms as well. This was a good, successful year for our group. Again, thanks to all the member boosters and those who have supported our causes in the past. We are always looking for help and new members, so join the new officers for this coming year in supporting sports at White Pine High School.

This year’s booster positions are President Todd Brewster, Vice President Mele Kingston, Second Vice President Jesse Murdock, Secretary Jala Brandis and Treasurer Shannon Cessford.
