The Nevada Northern Railway will offer two free train rides for dads on Father’s Day, June  15.

The first leaves  the station at 9:30 a.m. and will be a ride toward Ruth, featuring a robbery by the Ghost Riders of Old Ely. The second leaves at 1 p.m. and will again ride towards Ruth on the vintage diesel train.

Preempting the free rides will be a historical ride on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. looking back at one of the railway’s most important times in history. The Steptoe Valley Flyer, a train that brought four and a half million people to White Pine County between 1910 and 1941. The ride will feature commentary about the history by NNRY’s Executive Director Mark Bassett as well as first class seating in several cars.
