A Memorial Service for Edith J, Jensen will be held, Saturday, July 12, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, Ely, Nevada. She passed away in Houston, Texas earlier this year at the age of 95.
Edith was a resident of Ely, Nevada living in Ely from 1940 to 2003 when she moved to Houston, Texas to live with her son, Max Jensen. She was born, May 1, 1918 in Holden, Utah to William Bruce and Lillias Smith Johnson.
She married Harold George Jensen of Holden in 1937. They moved to Ely in 1940. After her husband passed away in 1962, she worked at O.P. Skaggs Grocery store, then for many years at Steptoe Drugstore. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Ely City Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters; Garlene (Dan) Stevenson of Ely and Elodee (Val) Florence of Grants, New Mexico; three sons, Max (Karen) of Houston, Texas, Gary of Ely and Ted (Linda) of Nampa, Idaho. She had 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, George Keith who passed away in 1939, a daughter-in-law, Kathy Jensen and Edith’s two brothers and sister.
