The Fourth of July has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebration goes back to the 18th century and the American revolution (1775-83). In June 1976, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle weighed to resolution that would declare their independence from Great Britain.
On July 2, the Condark Continental congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later it’s delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, a store document drafted by Thomas Jefferson.
Enjoy your Fourth and remember what it stands for.

The “No Hug” Rule
She didn’t need to ask
Why he was home from school
Because she knew the answer
When he broke no hug rule
His arms around her tightly
Peeking at the drawing he had done
Lots of trees and perfect branches
And a big yellow sun
She smiled a knowing smile
And then she spoke aloud
“Son you always did
And you always will make me very proud
