Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JULY 30

Report domestic disturbance — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was walking his dog on the football field. The individual was contacted and advised that no animals were allowed on the field.

Report of a welfare check — Officer attempted to locate the individual, but he was not at home.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her cell phone from her parents’ home. Investigation continues.

Report of a trespasser — Officer received a report of an individual who was trespassing at a local apartment complex. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the area.

Report of a found wallet — The owner of the wallet will be contacted.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his ladder. During the officers investigation a neighbor came forward and stated that he had borrowed the ladder.

Report of a down power line — Mt. Wheeler Power was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that she was having problems with her granddaughter over an incident where the granddaughter had left an item cooking on the stove. Officer contacted the parties involved and the situation was resolved.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that had occurred at a local motel. Officer contacted the parties involved and during his investigation arrested Anthony Fowler age 35 of Tuba City, AZ. Fowler was arrested for domestic battery and child abuse. He is accused of striking a small child who he is related to.

JULY 31

Report of a motorist assist — Officer assisted a motorist whose vehicle had ran out of gas.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Nikkey J. Bronson age 26 of Ely was arrested. Bronson was arrested for domestic battery and false imprisonment. He is accused of battering his girlfriend and not allowing her to leave the residence where they reside.

Report of a dog problem — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her that a citizen had complained it was running at large. The owner of the dog apologized and made sure the dog was contained.

Report of a possible scam — Reporting party stated that he received a phone call indicating he had won a prize. The reporting party was advised not to give any personal information out over the phone.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties indicated that they were over it.

Report of a welfare check — Officer checked on the children and reported that they were fine.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

AUGUST 1 

Report of a problem with a subject — Several subjects were reportedly arguing.  Contact was made with all three, and they were warned about disturbing the peace.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party sold an item online and believed he was being scammed.  He claimed the buyer offered to send him extra money to cash and then wire back.  He was advised it was in fact a scam.

Report of a custody issue — Both parties were contacted and advised to handle their child custody through the court system.

Report of a dog problem — A dog was reportedly left in a vehicle.  The owner was contacted and warned about leaving the dog in the vehicle during summer months.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party loaned her vehicle to the father of her child, and now he was refusing to return it.  After speaking to the father, the vehicle was returned without incident.

Report of a trespasser — The subject was located and the reporting party signed a citizen’s complaint.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was found and appeared to be fine.

Report of shots fired — When officers arrived to the area, they discovered subjects had been setting off fireworks.

AUGUST 2

Report of a stolen vehicle — The reporting party claimed someone had stolen his vehicle.  The vehicle was later located, abandoned and unoccupied.

Report of an intoxicated subject — A male subject was reportedly intoxicated and falling down.  The subject was located and a family member gave him a ride home.

Report of a vehicle violation — Several vehicles were reportedly illegally parked near a local business.  The owners were contacted and moved their vehicles.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed his son broke a drawer in a camp trailer.  A report was completed.

Report of found property — The reporting party claimed to have found a bicycle near a dumpster.  A report was completed.

Report of shots fired — Deputies located the subjects, who were target shooting in a rural area.

Report of a drug problem — The reporting party claimed several juveniles were using drugs in a local park.  The juveniles was located, but they showed no signs of drug use.

Report of stalking — The reporting party claimed two subject had been stalking her.  The investigation continues.

AUGUST 3

Report of a custody issue — The reporting party said she had her daughter three children with her and she didn’t want to return them to their mother.  The reporting party was advised she couldn’t keep the children unlawfully.

Report of fraud — The reporting party believed someone was attempting to defraud him by posing as a governmental agency.  It was later discovered to be fraudulent.

Report of an arrest — During a traffic stop, Roby Reed Melton III was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.  He was arrested without incident.

Report of a suspicious subject — The reporting party claimed that a truck driver offered her money to get in his truck.  When she refused, the truck fled the area.  A report was completed and the vehicle information was passed onto Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed an intoxicated man was getting into a vehicle.  The man was located and found to have a physical disability, and was not intoxicated.

Report of a suspicious subject — The reporting party claimed to hear a female screaming behind his house.  The female was later located and appeared under the influence.  Due to statements she made, she was transported to the hospital.

AUGUST 4

Report of suspicious circumstances — Drug paraphernalia was located in a public restroom.

Report of a welfare check — The subject couldn’t be located.

Report of an alarm — The business was checked and found to be secure.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The suspected vehicle was located and red-tagged for removal.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The owner of the vehicle was located and agreed to move the vehicle.

Report of a burglary — The reporting party claimed an unknown subject entered his residence and stole several items. The investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party complained about a nearby neighbor yelling.  The neighbor was contacted and agreed to stop yelling.

AUGUST 5

Report of a barking dog — The offending canine was located and the reporting party signed a citizen’s complaint against the owner.

Report of property damage — The reporting party claimed damage had been done to a machine used to distribute digital video discs.  A report was completed.

Report of animal cruelty — The reported animal was located and no abuse or neglect issues were discovered.

Report of a fight — When officers arrived, all parties on scene insisted there was no fight.

Report of an ATV problem — The reporting party claimed a male and several small children were riding an ATV without helmets.  Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and was okay.

Report of a residential alarm — The alarm was accidentally triggered by the owner.

Report of a suspicious subject — The reporting party claimed a male subject was acting weird and throwing rocks at her.  The subject was gone when officers arrived.

Report of a dog bite — Officers spoke to the victim who said she had not been bitten by a dog, but had injured herself removing a bone from her dog’s mouth.  A report was completed.
