AUG. 27

Report of a theft — Reported theft of a laptop. Upon investigating the incident it appeared to be a misunderstanding and the laptop was returned.

Report of telephonic harassment — Reporting party stated he was receiving collection calls for previous phone number owner. Advised this is not a criminal violation and to advise it was a wrong number.

Report of a battery — Upon arrival the parties involved had dispersed and no law enforcement action was requested.

Report of welfare check — Report of a very young juvenile unsupervised near a roadway. The juvenile was not located.

Report of trespassing — Property owner who resides out of town believed someone was on her property. The property was checked and no one was present.

Stolen vehicle — A stolen vehicle was located and recovered. Evidence was recovered and the investigation continues.

Report of juvenile problem — A juvenile subject threw trash out of a moving vehicle. The juvenile was located and cleaned up the trash.

Report of a theft — Report of a stolen street sign. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Upon investigation, an argument between siblings had occurred. The parties resolved their differences.

Report of threats — Upon investigation it was determined multiple juveniles engaged in an argument. Investigation continues.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated he is receiving unwanted text messages. The subject sending the text messages was contacted and agreed to stop sending them.

Report of a reckless driver — Reporting party stated a vehicle was passing vehicles in a dangerous manner. The vehicle was located, parked and unoccupied. The registered owner of the vehicle was contacted and advised of the complaint.

Report of slander — Upon investigation no criminal actions were discovered. Parties were advised to stay clear of each other

Report of alarm — Upon arrival it was found to be a false alarm.

Report of barking dog — The owner of the dog was contacted and corrected the behavior.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The reporting party claims a vehicle drives into a nearby field early in the morning.  The area was checked, but the vehicle was not there.

Report of an alarm — It was accidentally triggered by the homeowner.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed to have loaned an electronic device to a family member, but later learned it had been sold by a third party.  The investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was contacted and claimed to be fine.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was checked, but the subject was gone.

Report of threats — Two individuals, and later their parents, got into an argument over prior bad acts.  All parties advised to refrain from contacting/speaking to each other.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — The subject was located and found not to be intoxicated, but enervated from his protracted wayfaring.  The subject was given a ride home.

Report of a burglary — The reporting party claimed two subjects were breaking into a building and vehicle on her property.  The report was unfounded.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on her vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Anthony S. Whitten age 47 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. drugs and driving revoked.

Report of a music disturbance — Officer contacted the occupant of the residence and advised him to turn his music down.

Report of a parking problem and dog disturbance — Reporting party stated that his neighbors were parking in front of his residence and that their dogs were also barking. Officer reported that the reporting party was advised that no parking violation had occurred and the neighbor was advised of the complaint about his dog.

Report of a trespasser — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a possible prowler — Officer patrolled the area, but no one was located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that her soon to be ex-husband took some packages she had ordered. She was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that Briana Ennis of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Campton Street she failed to maintain her lane of travel causing an accident. She was issued a citation for driving on right side required. An accident report was completed.

Report of an accident / private property — Tyler Harman of Ely was backing up his vehicle and failed to see a parked vehicle behind him belonging to Whitney Thornton of Henderson, NV. Harman’s vehicle struck Thornton’s vehicle causing damage. A private property accident report was completed.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jacob Parr age 24 of McGill was arrested for D.U.I., open container of alcohol, and failure to obey a traffic control device.

Report of a found bike — The bike was placed into lost and found.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Fidel Apolonio-Santiago age 33 of Salem, OR was arrested for basic speed, possession of methamphetamine, and driving without a valid license.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone had turned the power off on his place of business. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she had an argument with several individuals over spilled water. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Brittney J. Valdez age 19 of Ely was arrested on a District Court warrant for contempt of court.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Aaron R. Drake age 42 of Ely was arrested for trespassing. He is accused of being at a local apartment building after being trespassed. During the arrest he was also found in possession of a controlled substance being methamphetamine and heroin. He was arrested on the addition charges.

Report of a lost dog — The incident was documented.

Report of a violation of a court order — Officer contacted both parties involved and advised them to follow the issued court order.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a problem with a subject — reporting party stated that an individual kept calling her cell phone believing he was talking to someone else. The caller was contacted and advised he was callings the wrong number.

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled, but no dogs were located.

Reporter of a suspicious subject — The individual was contacted and no problems were reported.

Report of a possible burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into a home that she is remodeling. Nothing had been taken. The incident was documented.

Report of a theft — Officer reported that while patrolling he located an item that had been removed from a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the item was returned.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred. Investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer made contact with the parties involved and reported that it was a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a ladder form his place of employment. The incident was documented.

Report of an unsupervised child — Officer received a report of a child playing at a local park unsupervised. The child was located and his parent was contacted. The information was provide to D.C.F.S.

Report of an open door — Officer checked the residence and reported that it was secured by the owner.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the individual who had been battered by two other people. The individual requested no law enforcement action.

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that had occurred at a local bar. Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they all went their separate ways.

SEPT. 1

Report of an accident — Donald Allison of Ely reported that he struck an antelope with his vehicle while traveling on US 6. A report was completed.

Report of a custody problem — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over the cell phone use of their child in common. The incident was documented.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that his medication had been stolen. Investigation continues.

Report of possible child abuse — Officer contacted the father of the child and reported that no abuse had taken place. Officer reported that the child was being disrespectful and had been disciplined appropriately.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual and reported that no problems were reported.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual had helped clean out a room and now won’t return the property. Officers are attempting to locate the individual.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the investigation officers arrested Francine S. John age 23 of Elko. John was arrested for domestic battery. She is accused of battering her boyfriend.

SEPT. 2

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that she had left her cell phone at a local business and when she went to retrieve it, it was missing. During the officers investigation the phone was located and an individual was accused of taking the phone. She was identified as Laura J. Nicholson age 39 of Ely. She was arrested for grand larceny and obstruction of a police officer.

Report of an ATL — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of illegal dumping — Officer received a report of a juvenile that had dumped trash out of his vehicle. The juvenile was contacted who then cleaned up the trash.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Officer received a report of several City Council members attempting to gain access to one of the Rail Road building. Officer contacted the individuals involved who had gained access to the building and were looking for financial records.  Reporting party advised that some damage to the building had occurred. Investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that it was a verbal argument. The parties separated for the day.

Report of a welfare check — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her purse had been left in a vehicle and the operator of the vehicle had left the area in the vehicle. The operator was contacted and the purse was returned.
