SEPT. 3

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was yelling and disturbing the peace. Officer contacted the individual who was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer contacted the owner of the home who stated that he would have the yard cleaned.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that a chain link fence had been cut. The incident was documented.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer contacted the owner of the home and advised her to clean up the garbage. She indicated she would have the yard cleaned.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an elk had been harvested and was in the back of a vehicle. She was concerned the meat might spoil. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that when she returned home her front door was open. The home was checked and no problems were located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she had hired an individual to do her taxes, but he has failed to do so. She was provided information on obtaining her documents back.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriends new boyfriend has threatened to assault him. Officers are attempting to locate the new boyfriend.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and she stated that she was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual keeps driving by yelling at her. The individual was contacted and advised to stay away from the reporting party.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

SEPT. 4

Report of an arrest — Jesse Kenneth Campbell, of Ely, was arrested for using drugs to induce euphoria and violating probation after being found disoriented and stumbling through a local gaming establishment.

Report of an alarm — A vehicle alarm was reportedly going off.  The officer found the alarm had reset upon his arrival.

Report of threats — The reporting party claimed to have received a threatening letter.  The deputy was unable to contact the sender.  The investigation continues.

Report of stalking — The reporting party claimed a male subject has been harassing her.  She claimed this had occurred on more than one occasion, which was corroborated by another person.  The reporting party was allowed to sign a citizen’s complaint for stalking, which was served on the male subject, identified as Keith Smith, of Ely.

Report of a non-injury accident — Robert Pappadakis, of Ruth, was backing from a parked position, and struck a vehicle operated by Lorraine Wilkin, of Brigham City, UT.  Pappadakis was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

Report of an intoxicated driver — The reporting party claimed a subject was possibly driving intoxicated.  The vehicle was located, parked and unoccupied.

Report of identity theft — The reporting party claimed his personal identifying information was used in an unsuccessful attempt to obtain unemployment benefits.  The investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — A deputy conducted a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation and later arrested the driver, identified as 56 year old Andre Victor Paez Sr, was arrested for driving under the influence.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed a juvenile has been harassing her.  The juvenile was unable to be located.

Report of a domestic dispute — Officers discovered the couple had been arguing over child custody.  Both parties separated without incident.

Report of a problem with a subject — The proprietor of a local auberge claimed a subject was unlawfully in one of the rooms and wouldn’t leave.  Contact was made with the subject, who left without incident.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party said his parents, with whom he lives, had tampered with his camp trailer and vehicle.  The report was unfounded.

Report of shots fired — The area was checked, but nothing unusual was located.

Report of a civil issue — The reporting party claimed that she allowed two minors to stay in her house and they had broken some of her property.  She was advised the issue was civil in nature.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed a suspicious male was walking around his neighborhood.  The male was located and found to be out for a walk.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party, while riding his motorcycle, struck a dog.  A report was completed.

Report of an accident / private property — Robert Fairbanks of Ely was operating a vehicle pulling into a parking position. He failed to see an unoccupied vehicle in front of him belonging to Thomas Schyler of Beaver, UT. Fairbanks vehicle struck Schyler’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several individuals were violating a no contact order. The individuals were contacted and advised to leave the area.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had scratched her vehicle. The incident was documented

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her home and stole her medication. Investigation into the incident continues.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles attempting to gain access into a vacant home. Officer located the juveniles and contacted their guardians. They were released to their custody.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of a subject that was acting confused walking around a local parking lot. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a domestic battery — Officer contacted the female involved in the incident who stated that she had been battered by her husband. The husband had left the area. Officer later located the husband and identified him as Michael J. Vodopich age 44 of McGill. Vodopich was arrested of domestic battery and false imprisonment. He is accused of battering his wife and not allowing her to leave the home.

Report of a trespasser — Officer received a report of an individual loitering around a local motel and management wanted her removed. Officers patrolled the area, but she was not located.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individual who had is music playing to loud. The individual turned his music down.

SEPT. 6

Report of an alarm — False alarm

Report of an intoxicated person — Officer located the individual who was passed out laying in some bushes. Officer woke the individual up and identified him as Austin M. Garcia age 20 of McGill. During the officers investigation Garcia was arrested for obstructing a police officer, forgery, minor in consumption of alcohol, and possession of a forged instrument. He is accused of providing false information to a police officer by providing a forged document.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that his son had been bitten by a dog that was running at large. Officer located the owner of the dog who was identified as Steve Hoy of Ely. Hoy was issued a citation for dog license required.

Report of an attempted burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had attempted to gain access to her garage. An alarm scared the person off. Investigation continues.

Report of a bad check — Officer collected the checks from a local business establishment and the checks were forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for collections.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an injured owl — Officer reported that due to the extensive injuries the owl had received it was put down.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that the previous renter of a home he is now renting was going through his mail. Officer is attempting to locate the previous renter.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Angelica Pacheco age 36 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles soliciting rides so they could go to the carnival. Officer contacted the juveniles and advised their parents of what the juveniles were doing.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was no longer welcome at his home, due to problems she was creating. The individual was contacted and advised not to return to the residence.

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that had occurred at a local bar. Officer reported that during his investigation the individuals involved were contacted. Officer reported that Jeffrey K.  Campbell age 40 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer and Lydia Campbell age 39 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

SEPT. 7

Report of a intoxicated pedestrian — Officer located the individual and reported that she was able to care for herself. The individual was escorted home.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Christopher Jensen age 38 of Ely was arrested. Jensen was arrested for domestic battery, false imprisonment, and interruption of a communication device. He is accused of battering his wife, not allowing her to leave the home and removing the phone from her not allowing her to call law enforcement.

Report of a sexual assault — Officer received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in another jurisdiction. Officers will assist in conducting the investigation and forward the information to the proper jurisdiction.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of several dogs fighting. One of the dogs had died during the fight. Officer contacted both owners of the dogs and reported that both dogs were running at large during the fight. The incident was documented.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted medical staff with a combative patient.

SEPT. 8

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The vehicle was located and the occupant was contacted. He had fallen asleep while waiting for a friend. No other problems were reported.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that someone had struck his vehicle with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. A report was completed.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were standing on a highway to close to the traffic waiting for the school bus. When officers arrived the juveniles had already been picked up by the bus.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that she was not intoxicated.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown eggs age her place of work. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that upon investigating the incident both parties involved reported no damage to their vehicles. The incident was documented.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over child custody. Officers determined the children were to stay with the father and the mother was advised. The mother then left the area.

Report of threats — Officer contacted the reporting party who stated that her landlord was threatening to evict her over the removal of some property. The incident was documented and the property was returned.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a dead horse — Officer reported that the horse had become entangled in a feeding trough and died due to its injuries.

Report of a disturbance — Officer reported that when they arrived to the area the intoxicated male causing the noise disturbance was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that the juvenile was upset due to she was moving from the area. She was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he loaned his motorcycle to a friend and recently he noticed the title to the motorcycle was missing. The reporting party was concerned that the friend stole the title and might sell the motorcycle.  The friend was contacted who stated that he was returning the motorcycle tomorrow.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the children and reported that they were fine.
