City of Ely Mayor

Fall is here and with it come beautiful days and lovely evenings. The usual fall tradition is to clean up your house and yard to prepare for winters arrival. The Ely City Council and Mayors office would like to expand on this tradition by asking the citizens of Ely for help in cleaning up our town.

There are a lot of tourists passing through town this fall. Hunting season has started and the Halloween train is wailing down the tracks. The ever present Snow Birds are migrating down south and Ely is always a stopping point for them. In the next few months, there will be lots of events going on so please help us give these visitors a grand welcome and a thanks for stopping by.

The City is asking for your help for two days. On Saturday, Oct. 11 at 9:00am the Council will be meeting at Ridleys to kickoff the Ely Clean-Up Campaign. The weather should be lovely, so please join us and bring your friends and family and plan to spend a couple of hours. Be ready to get dirty! Bring gloves, rakes and shovels. Don’t forget your hat and SUNSCREEN! If you’re busy Saturday, then come out Sunday, when we will meet at 11:00am to paint curbs. What could be better than spending a day out doors and volunteering for your community?

Tourism is what keeps Ely vital and growing. Let’s show some community pride and present Ely as the great town it is.
