Geneil Cates Carling and I were best buddies during the time we lived in Kimberly, Nevada, in the war housing as it was known in those days (1947-1950). This child looks so much like her mother. The father – Art – was known for his famous whistling and entered whistling contests. It is a great loss to a parent to lose a child.
I am so sad to hear this news. I pray that God will bless and comfort her family during this time. RIP Pauline.
I remember being in elementary school with Pauline. I would go to her house every morning and wait for her mom to braid her long hair before we walked to school. Prayers for her family, especially her brother and sisters.
I remember going to school with Pauline, although she was two years younger. I remember her as a happy person and a joy to be around. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and will keep all of the family in my prayers.
Blessings
I will miss her greatly and i send my condolences to the family
Pauline was one of those people who left a mark on your life. She was one of my lovely cousins who I drew close to all of my life. I love her whole family and pain at the thought of losing a true friend. She will not be forgotten soon nor will her laugh pass away any to soon.
I am Pauline’s cousin, Gordon W. Cates, and she will live on in my memory. Geneil Cates Carling is my aunt/mother since the day I was born and my heart is full of LOVE for her, especially during this time. Jehovah our creator knows the pain this brings and he comforts all seeking his love.
Louise and Art,
I don’t think I will ever read these obituaries again. I am sorry for your loss. I remember Pauline (like you both) as great swimmers. Pauline had a great butterfly. Don’t know how I remember that when I can’t remember where I went yesterday. She was athletic and beautiful. The Carling family is beautiful.
