SEPT. 30

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to have received several unwanted text messages.  A report was completed.

Report of a disturbance — The reporting party claimed to have heard a male clamoring.  The male was contacted and denied the vociferation.

Report of a reckless driver — The driver was located and warned about his driving pattern.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party claimed an unknown subject put water in the fuel tank of his vehicle.  The investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party claimed a man with a hammer was arguing with someone.  The subject was located and found to be working on a construction project and there were children playing nearby.  Domestic unfounded.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and was fine.

OCT. 1

Report of a barking dog — Officer received a report of a dog that had been barking and awoke the reporting party. The owner of the dog was identified as John Johnson. He was issued a citation for barking dog.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual came into her place of employment and stole a beer. When the individual is located she will be issued a citation for petit larceny.

Report of a domestic battery — Officer received a report of an individual who had been battered by a family member. The individual was contacted who declined to give any information. The incident was documented.

Report of possible drug use — The information was provided to the TASK FORCE

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a parking violation — Officer received a report of a vehicle that was illegally parked in the roadway. During the officers investigation Robert Eyre was issued a citation for parking in the roadway and the vehicle was removed.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted text messages. The sender of the messages was contacted and advised to stop her contact with the reporting party.

Report of a possible burglary — When officers arrived at the reporting parties’ residence she was not at home.

Report of an accident — Officer contacted the individual involved who stated that no accident had happened and she didn’t want to file a report.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a barking dog. The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Bryce A. Gribble age 81 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individual causing the music disturbance who stated that he would turn it down.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupant of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

OCT. 2

Report of an unattended death — The reporting party found her elderly father had passed away at his home. A report was completed.

Report of an open door — A door was reported open on an unoccupied home.  The door was secured.

Report of an accident — Brandon Merys, of Ely, was standing next to a tractor and started it.  As he did so, the vehicle went into motion, running him over and striking another parked vehicle.  Merys was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party complained about a neighbor’s trash.  Contact to be made with the neighbor.

Report of a battery — The reporting party claimed her juvenile daughter had been battered by another juvenile.  The investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party claimed to have been battered by her adult son.  The son fled the residence prior to law enforcement arrival.  The investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officers spoke to both parties, husband and wife, who both claimed to have been battered by the other.  Both gave inconsistent stories as to what had occurred.  Both parties were separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a subject — The owner of a local motel claimed a female was harassing tenants.  The female was located and trespassed from the property.

Report of a welfare check — The female was located and found to have been battered by her boyfriend.  The boyfriend, identified as 24 year old Levi Garcia was located the next day and taken into custody for domestic battery.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Gavin T. Craw age 26 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his vehicle and removed some of his property. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident — Wendy Anderson of Ely reported while operating her vehicle on Lackawanna Road she struck a deer causing damage to her vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had thrown eggs at her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of a suspicious subject — The individual was contacted and no problems were reported.

Report of possible drug activity — The information was given to the TASK FORCE

Report of an injured cat — Reporting party stated that her cat had received an injury to its leg. It is unknown how the injured occurred.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he located several checks inside a vacant trailer. Officer checked the trailer and located a large amount of garbage being stored inside. The owner of the trailer was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party advised that his ex-wife was not allowing him to speak to his children over the phone. The ex-wife was contacted who then allowed the children to speak to their father. The ex-wife then reported that the father was yelling and cussing at the children. The incidents was documented.

Report of an accident — Jerry Mascarenas of Duckwater struck a deer while operating a vehicle on US 6. A report was completed.

Report of counterfeit money — Reporting party stated that he was counting the money in his till and located several counterfeit bills. It is unknown at this time who had passed the counterfeit bills.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had damaged her vehicle by breaking off the rear view mirror and damaging the dash board. Investigation continues.

Report of an alarm — False alarm

Report of an open door — Officer reported that an open door was located on a closed business. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he is missing several guns from his residence. During the officers investigation the reporting party stated that his wife who is out of the area for several months might have sold them or exchanged them for other items. Investigation continues.

Report of possible child abuse — Officer investigated the incident and reported that no abuse had occurred. There had been a disagreement over how to discipline a child.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual keeps coming into his place of employment trying to upgrade an account that she is not on. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the store.

Report of hit and run accident — Traci Sandberg of Ely reported that while her vehicle was parked on a public street it was struck by another vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the area.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that the father of her child is bothering her over visitation rights. Officer reported that both parties involved were advised to obtain a child custody order through the court system.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupant of the vehicle who was assisting with the Ghost Train.

Report of a prowler — Officer patrolled the area, but no one was located.

Report of someone screaming — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of an accident — Edward Ockert of Ruth was operating a vehicle on US 50 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

OCT. 5

Report of an ambulance assist — Officer assisted the Ely ambulance with an intoxicated individual who had fallen inside a local bar.

Report of a violation of a court order — Officer reported that the applicant of a court order had been contacted by an individual who was listed in the order as to have no contact with the applicant. The individual was contacted who hadn’t been served the court order. He was advised of the complaint and served the court order.

Report of a dead deer in the roadway — The deer was removed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he allowed two individuals to stay in his shed overnight. He now wants them to leave. Officer reported that the individuals had already left upon his arrival.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that several lights she had placed next to a grave at the cemetery had been stolen. The incident was documented.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the individuals involved who had been engaged in a verbal argument over problems in the past. The individuals were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an accident — Robert Powers of Altadena, CA was operating a vehicle on us U S 6 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of an atv accident — Officers received a report of an ATV accident where the individual had fallen off the ATV and was being brought in by a private vehicle. During the officers investigation the individual had not been in an accident, but had suffered a medical condition causing him to fall from the ATV. He was taken to E.R. where he was pronounced dead by a local doctor.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of a problem that had occurred at a local bar. Officer contacted the parties involved who had been in an altercation over a juvenile that had been picked up by a family member. During the officers investigation Richard Pirnar age 51 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Officer received a report of several subjects selling tools out of a vehicle. Officer contacted the individuals and reported that they were trying to raise money to leave the Ely area. No crime had occurred.

Report of a 911 hang up — Officer contacted the caller who stated that he had witnessed a fight taking place at a local casino. Officers patrolled the area, but the fight was not located.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted Ely Tribal Police with an individual who claimed that she had been battered.

REPORT OF A PARKING PROBLEM

Reporting party stated that a vehicle was blocking his gate and he was unable to get his vehicle out. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and advised to move the vehicle.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE DRUG USE

City — the area was patrolled, but no fire was located.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY PROBLEM

City — reporting party stated that her child went to visit his father in another city and now the father is refusing to return the child. The reporting party was advised to file for a custody order.

REPORT OF A FIGHT

City — officer received a report of a fight that had taken place at a local bar. When officers arrived they contacted the parties involved and reported that Sean M. Scott age 41 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

REPORT OF MINOR LOITERING IN A BAR

City — officer reported that he located an underage female loitering inside a local bar. The female was issued a citation for loitering in a bar and the bartender was issued a citation for allowing the minor to loiter inside the bar.
