OCT. 29

Report of a bad check — Reporting party stated that she sold a vacuum to an individual and when they cashed the check for the purchase the check was returned for non-sufficient funds. Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance — Reporting party stated that two individuals were arguing at a local motel. Officers contacted one of the parties involved and she was trespassed from the area. The other individual involved had left before officer’s arrival.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a subject threatening suicide — Officer contacted the individual who had been arguing with his wife. The individual denied any threats towards himself. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual came to her home and was yelling at her. Officer contacted the individual and advised her to stay away from the reporting party.

Report of an accident — Report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

OCT. 30

Report of a possible poacher — Officer contacted several individuals who had stopped to look at a bull elk. No problems were located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that his camp trailer had been stolen. During the officers investigation it was determined that a lien had been placed on the trailer and was being held for back rent. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a parking problem — Officer contacted the parties involved and they worked out the problem of where they should park their vehicles.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Andrew Morfin age 45 of Salt Lake City, UT was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving suspended and no brake lights. A passenger in the vehicle identified as Darren Buckner age 47 of Long Beach, CA was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia

Report of a missing juvenile — The juvenile was located. He had stayed late at school to watch a sporting event.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that a mother and son had engaged in a argument. The mother advised her son needed mental health counseling.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Ronald T. Gallegos III age 39 of Ely was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, headlamps required, child neglect, and DUI drugs.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that they had engaged in spitting at each other and slapping each other. The parties were advised to separate for the night.

OCT. 31

Report of a welfare check— Officer reported that the individual had left town to receive medical assistance.

Report of an alarm — False alarm, it was set off by an employee accidentally.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into a local business and was yelling at his wife who is an employee. Officer contacted the individual and advised him not to return to the business.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his wife, whom he is separated from keeps calling him and came to his home in the middle of the night causing a disturbance. Officer contacted the wife who made the same accusation towards the reporting party. They were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a found purse — The owner was contacted who will pick up the purse at a later date.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that D.J. Seely of Ely was operating a vehicle on the Bench Road. As he did so he allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway causing it to roll. An accident report was completed and Seely was issued a citation for failure to decease speed in certain circumstances.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated they observed an individual walking around the area carrying a rifle. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a dead deer in the roadway — Officer reported that the deer was on the side of the roadway and was not a traffic hazard.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated he rented a room at a local motel. When he checked out they didn’t give him his deposit back. He was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local casino. Officer contacted the individual and had him leave the area.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a dog at large had entered into his home. The owner of the dog was located and the dog was returned.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that his ex-wife was not following the child custody order. The incident was documented.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that while he was at work his supervisor battered him. Officer reported that the incident was substantiated and the supervisor was issued a citation for battery.

Report an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an injured deer — Officer located the deer that had been struck by a vehicle. The deer was put down.

NOV. 1

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the establishment. He complied.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer reported that a traffic stop had been conducted on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Officer stated that the operator of the vehicle was identified as a local juvenile who was 15 years of age. The juvenile was detained and later released to a family member. A passengers in the vehicle was a 19 year old who had consumed alcohol and was also in possession of alcohol. He was cited for both offenses.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that one of her family members had recently passed away. Before he had passed away he had loaned a firearm to a family friend. The friend is now refusing to give the gun back. The family friend stated that he was given the gun. Investigation continues.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that he is renting a home and a door to a shed on the property had been damaged. The owner of the home was contacted who stated that the damage had been done a long time ago. No crime had occurred.

Report of a 911 hang up — The owner of the property where the call came from was contacted and he indicated that there is no phones hooked up at that location. The incident was documented.

Report of a fire — The area was patrolled, but no fire was located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officers received a report of several juveniles causing a disturbance. The area was patrolled, but they were not located.

Report of domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over keys to a vehicle. The parties separated for the night.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The parties involved were contacted and they agreed to separate for the night.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of juveniles setting off fireworks. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

NOV. 2

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that was taking place at a local bar. During the officers investigation Melinda D. Pickel age 44 of Ely was arrested. Pickel was arrested for disturbing the peace and obstructing a police officer. A citizen complaint for battery was also signed against her by an individual who claimed he had been battered by Pickel.

Report of an identity theft — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to her banking account. Her banking establishment was contacted and notified of the incident.

Report of an ATL — Reporting party stated that her family members are out deer hunting, but she hasn’t heard from them for a few days. Search and Rescue were called out to attempt to locate the hunters.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Aubrey Hughes age 20 of McGill was arrested. Hughes is accused of battering a family member and not allowing her to leave the residence. He was arrested for coercion, abuse of an elderly person, and false imprisonment.

Report of an ATL — Reporting party stated that her soon to be ex-husband took their children for the day, but hasn’t returned home. Officer contacted the parties involved and they were fine.

Report of a possible burglary — Reporting party stated that when he returned home he found a window open on his residence. The residence was checked and no problems were located.

NOV. 3

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of suspicious phone calls — Reporting party stated that she receives a telephone call once or twice a month and the caller never talks to her. Officer researched the number and reported that it was a telemarketing agency. The reporting party was advised of the incident.

Report of a possible poacher — The report was given to Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband wouldn’t drive to their previously designated meeting place to exchange their children. The ex-husband was contacted and the parties worked out an agreement on were the children would be picked up.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The vehicle was checked and no problems were located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted a mother and daughter who had engaged in a verbal argument over food. Both parties involved were advised to work out their problems civilly.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that her dogs had gotten loose and she received a telephone message that someone had shot them. Officers was unable to confirm these actions. Investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the individual involved who was yelling at her children. She was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a citizen assist — Officers assisted the care Center with a resident.

Report of an ATL — Officer reported that the individual was located and was fine.

Report of an ATL — Officer assisted Las Vegas Metro on locating a juvenile. The juvenile was not located in the Ely area.

NOV. 4

Report of a battery — Officer received a report of a juvenile battery that had taken place at a local school. The juveniles and their parents were contacted and the school worked out the problem.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the Convention Center. The individual was contacted who was attempting to have people sign a petition. He was advised of the laws concerning his actions.

Report of a theft — Officer reported that a rifle scope had been stolen from Sports World. During the officers investigation several suspects were identified. Jeramiah Parks age 30 of Ely and Jesse Griffin age 20 of Ely  Parks  and Griffin were arrested for burglary, grand larceny, possession of stolen property, obstructing, and attempting to sale stolen property. A female was also arrested who was identified as Nicole Middlekoop age 22 of Ely. She was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that he was not intoxicated.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of several individuals causing a disturbance at the Convention Center. Officer patrolled the area and no problems were located.

Report of an accident — Jason Miller of Tulsa OK was operating a vehicle traveling on US 93 when he struck a deer with his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she and her daughter are constantly being harassed by an individual. Investigation continues.
