Te Eastern Nevada Landscape Coalition (ENLC) and Tri-County Weed Control will put on teh tenth annual Winter Weed Conference on Jan. 8-9, 2015 at the Bristlecone Convention Center.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Catalyst for change: Opening the conversation for changing Nevada’s noxious weed program.” Presenters from around the state will discuss the politics of weeds to developing weed programs in neighboring states. Their will also be a breakout session for those who need CEU credits for their applicator’s licenses.

Some of the topics to be covered at the conference include: reviewing Nevada’s strengths and weaknesses; Nevada’s current state program and laws; how other western states manage noxious weeds (Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are invited); and current funding and structure.

In addition to offering CEU credits, the Nevada Department of Agriculture will administer the applicator’s test on the afternoon of Jan. 9 fr anyone who is not a licensed applicator and wishes to become one. For those interested in taking the applicator’s test or need to take the rodenticide test, contact Brett Allen at the Nevada Department of Agriculture at 775-353-3715. Tests are $50.
