Learning Bridge Charter School
Heidi Tokerud has been honored as Learning Bridge’s Focus teacher for the month of November.
Heidi has an abundance of ideas to encourage children to learn and to excite them about reading. She makes books come alive for all students. She also makes students want to write and is an advocate for writing across the curriculum.
The experiences she creates in her classroom are phenomenal. For example when studying Japan all the students made kimonos and then enjoyed Japanese food for lunch. Heidi organized our children’s theater experience for the past two years. She is available to help other teachers and is always willing to share time and material. Heidi understands the importance of our Core Knowledge Curriculum and is an advocate to ensure Learning Bridge becomes a Core Knowledge Official School. Heidi believes that science fairs in schools are a wonderful way to encourage students to critically think. She is a wonderful resource for all our teachers, parents and students in our preparation and during our science fair. Heidi also has a great deal of experience and is very helpful when it comes to working on closing the achievement gap at the Learning Bridge by interpreting student data.
Her students are her top priority: after school you can always find her working with students one on one. Learning Bridge Charter School is lucky to have such an amazing person and superb professional for all to learn from.
