NOV. 25

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked in a private parking lot someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. An accident report was completed.

Report of a death — Reported on November 24— officer received a report of an individual who had died at his residence. Officer reported that the deceased was identified as John R. Keel age 18 of Ely. Keel was transported to the Clark County Coroner’s Office to confirm his cause of death. The investigation into the death of Keel shows that he took his own life.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had damaged his mail box by knocking it over.

Report of a possible fire — Officer contacted the owner of the home who had just started a fire in his fire place and it had caused a large amount of smoke.

Report of a disabled semi — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of abandoned property — Officer received a report of a 55 gallon drum that had been left near a business. The City of Ely was contacted and the drum was taken to the dump.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had purchased a phone using her cellular account information. The phone was sent to an address out of state. The incident was documented.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who was having problems towing a trailer and was attempting to fix the problem.

Report of a possible child abuse — Officer received a report of a child who had been injured and needed medical attention. Investigation into how the child received its injuries continues.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that his box trailer had been stolen while it was parked at a local business establishment. Investigation continues.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that he wanted an individual removed from his trailer park that was causing a disturbance. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend had placed all his property outside their residence. The reporting party picked up his belongings and left the area.

Report of a prowler — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party just moved here to work at a local business establishment. Reporting party stated that the place she was staying at, which is where she works was haunted and didn’t want to live their anymore. Officer assisted her in getting a motel for the night.

Report of an accident — Stephen Trujillo of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on US 50 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Report of an ambulance assist — Officer assisted the Ely ambulance with an individual who was acting violent due to mental illness.

Report of a reckless driver — The area will be patrolled during the time when the reporting party indicated the vehicle is in the area.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that John Morkeh age 34 of Elko was arrested during a traffic stop for basic speed and obstructing a police officer.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and the operator and reported that no crime had occurred. The operator was waiting for a family member.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of an individual thinking about suicide. The individual was contacted who stated that he was fine. Family members were contacted to and advised of the problem.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that the father of her son was refusing to let her have their son for Thanksgiving Day. A report will be sent to District Court due to the visitation violation.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Richard G. Seely age 51 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. drugs

Report of possible shots fired — The area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Irene A. Mike age 96 of Ruth died at her residence due to natural causes.

Report of an open door — Officer reported that while patrolling the Ely area he located an open door on a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the door was secured.

Report of an accident — Officer assisted Nevada Highway Patrol with a vehicle accident that had occurred on US 50.

Report of a dog bite — Officer reported while releasing a dog back to its owner he was bitten by the dog. The officer received medical attention at E.R.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a propane tank from his residence.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that his child was at his mother’s home and she was refusing to return the child. Officer contacted the mother who returned the child to the father. Both parties were advised to follow the child custody order.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Reporting party stated that someone had abandoned a vehicle in front of her residence. The vehicle was tagged for removal.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — Officer received a report of an individual who was sleeping in front of an apartment building. Officer contacted the individual and reported she was very intoxicated. Officer observed she had sustained a head injury from falling so she was taken to the E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that a mother and son had been engaged in a verbal argument. The mother advised that the son has a mental illness. She was advised to seek mental health for her son.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she was receiving unwanted text messages from an individual. The individual was contacted and advised to stop her contact with the reporting party.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that it was a verbal argument between a father and son. During the officers investigation Dustin J. Lutze age 20 of Ely was arrested for disturbing the peace and possession of a dangerous drug.

Report of unwanted text messages — Reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend keeps calling her and texting her. Officers reported that the ex-boyfriend lives out of state. Officers are attempting to contact him and advised him to stop calling the reporting party.

Report of a hit and run accident — Officer received a report of a semi-truck that had struck a gas pump barrier tearing it from the ground. The operator of the vehicle had fled the scene. Officers located the vehicle and identified the operator as Edward Bisconer of Vancouver, WA. He was issued a citation for hit and run property damage.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the child and his parent and reported that they were fine.

Report of a civil problem — Officer received a report of a problem with a renter at a local motel. The renter and the motel manager were advised it was a civil problem and to proceed with an eviction notice.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer received a report of an individual who was operating a vehicle in a reckless manner. The reporting party signed a citizen complaint against the operator of the vehicle for reckless driving.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was refusing to ride the school bus to school. The juvenile stated that another student on the bus was threatening him. The juvenile was taken to school and school official were advised to the threats.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her husband was causing a disturbance and harassing her. The husband was contacted who agreed to leave the residence.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he was having problems with his landlord trying to evict him. Officer contacted the parties involved and advised them both it was a civil problem.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

City — Maria Bliss of Ely was operating a vehicle entering into a business parking lot. Braxton Crepeau of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up from a parked position. Crepeau failed to see Bliss and backed his vehicle into hers. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF UNWANTED TEXT MESSAGES

City — reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted text messages from her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend. Both parties involved were contacted who blamed each other for unwanted texting. They were both advised to stop contact with each other.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER

City — reporting party stated that she was out of town and a person was at her home who was not supposed to be there. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the residence.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

City —- reporting party stated that she was operating a vehicle and accidently stuck a vehicle stopped in front of her. The vehicle in front of her left the area. The incident was documented.
