Bruce Hendrix1Bruce Wayne Hendrix of Ely NV died on December 12, 2014 in a place he loved. Bruce was born on April 28, 1951 in East Ely NV to John Lorain “Jack” and MaryLou (Reid) Hendrix. He grew up in Lund, NV where he attended elementary, junior high and graduated from Lund High School in 1969. He moved to Salt Lake City UT where he studied accounting at Stevens-Henager College and LDS Business College. Bruce moved to Cedar City UT, in January 1975, where he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University in December 1975. After finishing his degree Bruce was employed at Kafoury, Armstrong & Company in Elko NV where he became a Certified Public Account. He was hired by Mcmullen McPhee & Company in 1985 which allowed him to move to Ely to be closer to his family. In 1993 Bruce started his own business, Bruce W. Hendrix, CPA, where he worked until his death.

While living in Salt Lake City he met Cindy Lee Beazer and they were married on May 5, 1972 in Idaho Falls, ID. They were later divorced. Bruce was married to Julia LuAnn Rundle on June 10, 1995 in St. George, UT.  They were sealed together on March 16, 1996 in the Bountiful, UT Temple. Bruce had five children from his marriage to Cindy Lee and four more children joined the family with his marriage to Julia. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and his favorite shirts were those either made by his grandchildren or those which said something about “Dad” or “Grandpa”.

Bruce is survived by his children: Wayne (Melissa) Hendrix of Mapleton, UT, Travis (Crystal) Hendrix of Lehi, UT, John (Jacque) Hendrix of Tooele, UT, April (Dave) Steed of Las Vegas, NV, and  Rose (Derek) Wells of Springville, UT. Four Stepchildren: Damien Hunting, Destry Hunting, Andrea Ljungquist and Melody Jenson. His brother Norris (Joy) Hendrix of Lund, NV, brother Rick (Diane) Hendrix of Lund, NV, sister Dent (Maggie) Hendrix of Salt Lake City, UT and sister Patti (Joe) Christensen of Lund, NV, 25 Grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Lund NV LDS Meeting House at 11:00am with a visitation with family and friends prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Burial will take place in the Lund, NV Cemetery.
