It’s the season of giving and Girl Scout Troop 1349 has not forgotten man’s best friend and of course our furry friends at the City of Ely’s Animal Shelter.  Using some of the Girl Scout Cookie Money and a donation from Councilman, Marty Westland, the girlsand Mayor Melody Van Camp loaded a shopping cart full of food and delivered a  generous supply of food to the Animal Shelter. Animal Control Officer Sam Davis, talked to the girls about being a responsible pet owner and the importance of spay and neutering your pets. Then it was off to tour the facility and visit the animals and shower the dogs with lots of petting and play with the kittens.  The Troop spent a total of $200 and would like to challenge other groups to donate food to the shelter or to the spay and neutering program sponsored by The Zoo.  Interested in Girl Scouts?
