Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

DEC. 22

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had walked into his home uninvited. The reporting party stated that he told the person to get out of his home. The reporting party stated that the individual had also gotten into his vehicle and had attempted to start it. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.  Investigation continues.

Report of a fight — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Robert W. Ross age 21 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that her husband had battered her. During the officers investigation Dangelo Hirales age 19 of Ely was arrested. Hirales was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his wife.

Report of a propane smell — Reporting party stated that she could smell propane in her neighborhood. The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of unwanted text messages — Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted text messages from an individual. Reporting party was advised to block the sender’s numbers from her phone.

Report of a residence check — The home was checked and found to be secured.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that when she had awoken from a nap she found a person inside her home who stated that he was borrowing an item. The reporting party looked around her home and found where he had stolen an I-Pad and some prescription medication. Investigation continues.

Report of a custody problem — Officer contacted the parties involved who agreed to follow the child custody order.

DEC. 23

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that two individuals at a local bar were threatening the bar tender. Officer contacted the individuals who were then trespassed from the business.

Report of dead animals — Reporting party stated that several dead rabbits were placed across the highway. The animals were removed.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had been engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a public nuisance — Reporting party stated that an individual was parking a lot of junk vehicles on a lot in Cross Timbers. Investigation continues.

Report of child pornography — Reporting party stated that while doing work on a computer she located what appeared to be child pornography. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — The children were contacted and were fine.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he had some Christmas presents stored in a storage room and some children entered it and took the presents. Contact was made with the children and their parent. The toys were returned to the reporting party. A report was sent to D.C.F.S.

DEC. 24

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dogs, but the owner of the dogs was not at home. Contact with him will be made at a later date.

Report of a intoxicated subject — Officer contacted the individual who was causing a disturbance. The individual was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted an individual who had been placed on administrative leave by his employer. He was advised to leave the property.

Report of a fire — Officer located the remnants of a fire located on Forest Service property. The individual involved had burned his trash. Law enforcement with the Forest Service will investigate the problem.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Luke L. Thompson age 38 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a found wallet — The wallet was placed into lost and found.

Report of a runaway — Reporting party stated that her juvenile daughter had ran away with an adult male. Investigation continues.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on her vehicle.

New bookings — Luke L. Thompson / Ely Justice Court warrant, use of a controlled substance /Bail $5,000.

DEC. 25

Report of a suspicious noise — Reporting party stated that she heard a noise in her home. The home was checked and nothing was located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a missing vehicle — Reporting party stated that she had borrowed a friend’s car. She had parked the car on a public street, but the car is now gone. The vehicle was located and no crime had occurred.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her daughter was emotionally upset due to her not taking her mediation properly. Officer contacted the parties involved and provided counseling ideas.

Report of an accident — Reporting party was operating a vehicle when one of the tires fell off. The tire struck a parked vehicle. No damage was reported. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband was causing a disturbance. The ex-husband was trespassed from the reporting party’s home.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that he had struck a road marker with his vehicle causing damage to it. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and advised them to keep the peace.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted a elderly female who had fallen and couldn’t get up Officers assisted her and she was fine.

Report of a found phone — The owner was contacted and will pick the phone up.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that it was a verbal argument between a mother and daughter. The daughter left the residence.

Report of a violation of a court order — Reporting party stated that an individual whom she had a protective order against was attempting to call her. Officer advised the reporting party that the order hadn’t been severed due to the individual was out of the area. She was provided with information on how to block the number he was calling from.

Report of a death— Officer reported that Otis R. Fries age 70 of Lake Havasu City, AZ was traveling through the area when he died of natural causes.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party found an animal hide and requested an investigation. The information was provided to N.D.O.W.

DEC. 27

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer located several juveniles out past the hours of curfew. The juveniles were detained and later released to their parents. A report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a lost cell phone — Reporting party stated that she had lost her cell phone. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the two individuals involved who had been arguing over finances. Both parties involved accused the other of causing the problem. They were both advised to keep the peace.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a private property accident — Lyle Lindahl of Ruth was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a parked vehicle behind him being operated by Caryn Moller of Ely. Lindahl’s vehicle struck Moller’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he had recently broken up with his girlfriend and she is refusing to give him his property back. Contact was made with the girlfriend who advised she would return his property.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and advised it was a verbal argument. Both parties were advised to keep the peace.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that an individual had destroyed some paper work belonging to him. The reporting party advised he was going to harm the individual. The reporting party was advised not to have contact with the other person involved.

DEC. 28

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual had returned to her place of employment after the individual had been trespassed previously. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a broken water line — Officer reported that a main water line had broken inside a business. The main water line was turned off by the City of Ely.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an elderly female whose battery powered wheelchair had become stuck in the snow. Officers were able to free the wheelchair so the citizen could continue on her way to the store.

Report of a unattended child in a vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and there was no child inside.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who accused each other of battery. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other and to keep the peace.

DEC. 29

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that the father of her child was too meet with her for child custody exchange, but failed to do so. The father showed up latter in the day and the exchange took place.

Report of a death — Officer reported that David Dennis age 56 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he had a pair of bolt cutters on his front porch and someone stole them. The incident was documented.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that her juvenile son had been battered by an adult. Investigation continues.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had broken the windshield on his vehicle and flattened two of the tires. The incident was documented.

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that his vehicle was parked at a local parking lot.  The vehicle next to him struck his vehicle and when he confronted the operator of the vehicle he denied doing so and left the area. Investigation continues.

Report of possible drug use — Reporting party stated that two customers came into her place of business and they appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The area was patrolled, but the individuals had left the area.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that she had been bitten by a dog. The reporting party received medical attention at E.R. Officer is attempting to contact the owner of the dog.
