The White Pine High School Ladycats extended their winning streak to seven games after winning back to back road games over the weekend in Las Vegas. The Ladycats first faced The Meadows (8-7) on Friday, coming away with a 43-33 victory. The Ladycats followed up with another win over the struggling 2-7 Lions of Calvary Chapel Christian High School, winning 39-27.

The two road wins kept the Ladycat’s even with divisional opponent Needles in first place at 12-1 in league play. White Pine will have a chance to claim the division lead outright when they face Needles on the road on Saturday, but will first have to get through Laughlin (7-10) on the road Friday.

The Ladycats will return home on Wednesday to take on the 8-14 West Wendover Wolverines at 4:30 p.m.

Coach Krystal Smith has improved on the Ladycat’s record this year despite losing three seniors at the end of the 2013-2014 season. This year’s Ladycats team has already matched the total wins from last year at 20, though the team changed from the Northern division to the Southern division this year.

The Ladycats final four games will determine their seeding into the D-III Southern League tournament held at Spring Valley high school in Las Vegas on Feb. 20-21.
