City Clerk Bob Sweitzer found himself with a new job title and a bump in pay after the council members voted unanimously to promote him to City Adminisrator in their most recent meeting inside the Armory on Feb. 12.

According to Sweitzer, the new title incorporates all of his previous duties held as the clerk as well as additional administrative issues the city may need help with. The increase in responsibilities also brought along a pay raise, increasing his yearly salary from $60,000 to $79,000.

“I love the community. There are some challenges here but I enjoy tackling those challenges and trying to make the city even better,” Sweitzer said of his new position.

Sweitzer was sworn in to replace former City Clerk Jennifer Winkle in September of last year and has received the praise of the council for correcting the mistakes of his predecessor. Sweitzer announced in the city meeting that he is one online course away from earning his Masters in Public Administration, which he expects to have by Spring.
