Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

MARCH 4

Report of a child needing medical attention — Officer received a report of a baby that was in need of medical attention. The child was taken to E.R. During the investigation the caregiver of the child as identified as Emily Edmonds age 31 of Ely. She was arrested of use of a controlled substance

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that he was repossessing a vehicle when the owner of the vehicle entered into it and attempted to run him over. The owner of the vehicle was identified as Shasta Drake age 35 of Ely. She was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that while he was at a local casino someone stole his wallet. Investigation continues.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone had placed tracking devices on his vehicle. Officer reported that the item was the car alarm. This was explained to the reporting party.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he stayed the night at a local motel and when he had left the Ely area he noticed his firearm had been removed from his suitcase. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — Officer checked on the mother and child and reported that they were fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she had a verbal argument with a subject. Reporting party wanted the incident documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that William Burdo age 31 of Vacaville, CA was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, headlamps required, and driving revoked. Also during this investigation Sabrina Hammond age 28 of Vacaville, CA was arrested for possession for drug paraphernalia.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Tyler H. Cichucki age 39 of Mesa, AZ was arrested for basic speed, driving revoked, and unregistered vehicle.

MARCH 5

Report of an open door — Deputies discovered an open door on a closed business. The building was checked and the door was secured.

Report of threats — The reporting party claimed to have gotten a threatening text message from an unknown person from another state.  A report was completed.

Report of a reckless driver — The reporting party claimed a female drove past her with willful wanton disregard for persons and property.  Contact was made with the driver’s mother, who said she’d talk to her daughter about her driving.

Report of theft — The reporting party claimed to have discovered a person who was taking money from an elder person, who was being cared for by the alleged suspect.  The investigation continues.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party complained that his neighbor’s dog barked during the evening.  The reporting party was advised to call when the problem was occurring.

Report of a bad check — The reporting party allegedly received a non-sufficient fund check from a tenant in a house he was renting.  Contact to be made with the tenant.

Report of a bad check — The reporting party claimed his employer received a check for services rendered, which was later returned for non-sufficient funds. Contact was made with the author, who agreed to contact the company and pay the amount promised.

Report of lost property — The reporting party claimed she left her ID at a restaurant last month and she went back for it today and it was gone.  Contact was made with the reporting party and she was advised law enforcement had her ID from when she skipped out on paying her bill last time she was at the restaurant.

Report of a juvenile problem — A juvenile was reportedly drinking in a residence.  The report was unfounded.

Report of a business alarm — The alarm was false.

Report of a private property hit and run accident — A witness observed a truck strike a parked vehicle in a private parking lot, and then flee the scene.  The striking vehicle was later located parked nearby, but not the driver.  A report was completed.

Report of a battery — The reporting party claimed a co-worker battered him.  The co-worker had fled the area.  The investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The reporting party claimed a blood relative had battered her and took her phone when she attempted to call 911.  Contact was made with the relative, identified as 56 year old Ruth resident Gary Ware.  Ware was later arrested for domestic battery.

MARCH 6

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that a unknown vehicle had struck her vehicle while it was parked and unoccupied. The striking vehicle had fled the scene.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her wallet. She later located the wallet, but the money was missing. Investigation continues.

Report of a threat — Reporting party stated that he had heard about someone trying to harm his wife. The reporting party wanted the incident documented.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a found item — Reporting party located a bank bag. The owner of the bag was contacted and the incident was documented

Report of an unattended child — Officer reported that a small child had been left unattended for several hours. When the parent was contacted she stated she thought her child was at a friend’s home. D.C.F.S. was contacted and the child was placed with a family friend.

Report of a stolen vehicle — Reporting party stated that an individual had stolen her vehicle. Officer located the vehicle which had been taken by mistake. The vehicle was returned to the rightful owner.

Report of a dead dog in the roadway — Officer removed the dog which had been struck by a vehicle.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Trent A. Clanton age 30 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

MARCH 7

Report of a death — Officer received a report of a death that had occurred at the Ely State Prison. Officer reported that the deceased was identified as Edward Bennett age 45 an inmate at Ely State Prison. The investigation indicated that Bennett had taken his own life.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that a vehicle had struck a fire hydrant and then fled the scene. A report was completed.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the motorcycle was not located.

Report of identity theft — Reporting party stated that someone was using her social security card and had filed several tax returns over the last several years. A report was completed.

Report of a 911 hangup — Officer contacted the caller and reported no problems had occurred.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer patrolled the area, but the motorcycle was not located.

Report of a runaway child — The child was located and returned home.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that her children had stolen an item from her home and were causing fights with other siblings. The children were spoken to and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that he had been battered by his ex-girlfriends father. During the investigation the father was issued a citizens complaint for battery.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that while his vehicle was parked at a local parking lot someone had placed shaving cream on it. The incident was documented.

MARCH 8

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individual who was having an argument with a person at a local bar. She was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a bicycle from her yard. Officer reported that during his investigation the bike was located along with a suspect. The suspect was identified as Anthony Buckner of Ely. He was issued a citation for petit larceny.

Report of a found item — Reporting party stated that she had found a credit card. The owner of the card was contacted and advised.

Report of an accident — Apache Rowbottom of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle behind him being operated by Jennifer Foster of Ely. Rowbottom’s vehicle struck Fosters vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Rowbottom was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

MARCH 9

Report of a strange noise — Officer reported that the noise was a semi-truck that had a refrigerator unit that was running. No problems were reported.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a violation of a court order — Officer received a report of an individual who had violated a protective order. The individual was identified as Debbie L. Griffin age 52 of McGill. Griffin was arrested for violation of an extended protective order.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual who was helping him fix his vehicle stole the keys to the vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident/ private property — Larry Rosell of Okotoks, AB was operating a vehicle attempting to pull into a local gas station. As he did so he struck a parked vehicle being operated by William Price of Twin Falls, ID. An accident report was completed.

Report of a reckless driver — The vehicle was located parked and unoccupied.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a dog fight — Reporting party stated that two of her dogs were fighting and she couldn’t get them separated. The dogs were separated and contained.

MARCH 10

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked and unoccupied at a local parking lot someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the scene.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that an individual came to her pace of employment and made threats towards her over a late fee charge. A citation for harassment will be issued to the individual when he is located.

Report of a violation of a protective order — Reporting party stated that she is receiving telephone calls from an individual whom she has a protective order against. Investigation continues.

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of two juveniles who had been involved in an altercation at a local school. The juveniles were contacted and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who denied any disturbance had taken place. One of the individuals involved had fallen and injured his leg. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Louis J. Moglia age 54 of McGill was arrested for use of fictitious license plates, driving without a valid license, no insurance, and obstructing a police officer
