The White Pine County School District (WPCSD) is partnering with local early childhood entities to promote school readiness. Children will have opportunities to participate in games, crafts and have treats at the Bristlecone Convention Center on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 pm.
Children 5 years old or will those that will be 5 years old by Sept. 30 can be registered for Kindergarten at the event. Registration requires the child to be present, as well as there immunization records and birth certificate. Parents will be able to ask the school district’s Developmental Specialist and Speech Therapist school readiness questions.
There will also be activities available for children too young to sign up for Kindergarten. The WPCSD will have staff from Little People’s Head Start, Magic Carpet Preschool, Shoshone Education Center, McGill Preschool and Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS, serving children birth up to age 3) there to answer any questions parents may have about their young child’s education and development. Registration for these programs will also be available.
