The Ely chapter of the Lion’s Club held their Youth Speaking Contest Saturday at the County Courthouse. Three students traveled from other rural Nevada high schools to compete in a public speaking challenge. Each student was tasked with giving a 10 minute speech about “Immigration Reform.” Pictured from left to right: Emily Young and her mother from Austin, contest winner Amber Spinuzzi and her family from Yerington and Ben Shirley and his father from Lovelock.
