Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

APRIL 1

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had removed several concrete rings from his property. Investigation continues.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual had entered into her home and stole her medication. During the investigation the individual was identified as Lucrecia Romero age 25 of Ely. Romero was arrested for petit larceny, burglary, and exploitation of the elderly.

Report of a possible trespasser — Reporting party stated that someone was inside her camper trailer. The trailer was checked and no one was located.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his home and stole his medication. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident — Samuel Gomez of Ely reported that while he was traveling on Lackawanna Road a vehicle entered into his lane of travel causing him to leave the roadway. Gomez’s vehicle then struck a fence belonging to the City of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juvenile had walked past him and called him names. The juveniles were contacted and spoken to about their behavior.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over property. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a welfare check on a dog — Officer reported that the dogs had food, water and shelter. No problems were reported.

APRIL 2

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that a customer had left the store without paying for an item. Officer contacted the customer who returned the item.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a customer was causing a disturbance at her place of employment. The customer was contacted and trespassed from the store.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that some money was missing from his home. Officer contacted a friend of the reporting party who stated that the reporting party had her go and buy groceries for him.

Report of a truancy — Officer received a report of a student that was truant. When located the student will be issued a citation for truancy.

Report of a scam — Reporting party stated that she received a telephone call from an individual who was claiming to be a police officer threatening to have her arrested. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to avoid any further calls from the caller.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that she was not intoxicated.

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that had occurred inside a local restaurant. The parties involved were contacted and trespassed from the establishment.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone was inside her apartment. The apartment was checked and no one was located.

Report of a scam — Reporting party stated that he had been sending money to a company that was supposed to provide computer services for him. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and that he would not be able to reclaim the money he was out.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he was having problems with a subject who had been a guest in his home. The individual was contacted who agreed to leave the residence.

Report of a problem with a subject — Report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were running through the neighborhood. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer received a report of an adult and several small children walking off of Success Loop. Officer located the individuals who vehicle had broken down. They were provided a ride to their home.

APRIL 3

Report of a death — Officer reported that Leonard G. Shaull age 84 of McGill died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of a barking dog — The report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of an alarm — False alarm

Report of animal abuse — Reporting party stated that she had moved out of the Ely area and her ex-husband was to care for and feed her horses. When the reporting party came back to the Ely area she reported that the horses were not being cared for. The reporting party took the horses with her and the incident was documented.

Report of a violation of a court order — Reporting party stated that an individual had violated a court order. Officer reported that the order had not been served. The individual was located and the order was served.

Report of found drugs — Reporting party stated that his child had found a baggie containing drugs while at a local casino. The baggie was collected and destroyed.

Report of a parking problem — When officers arrived the vehicle had been moved.

Report of stolen medication — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his medication from his vehicle. The reporting party called back several hours later stating he had located the medication.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of vandalism — Reporting party stated that someone had spray painted some playground equipment at a local park. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual who had been trespassed from a local bar had walked through the bar area and then left. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of an older man walking along the highway waving his arms. The individual was located and provided assistance.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a reckless driver — Reporting party stated that an individual had passed him on a double yellow line. He had contacted the operator who stated that he didn’t want to be late for work. Deputies will contact the operator of the vehicle when he is home from work.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she had confronted two females at a local bar that were being loud and using foul language. An argument occurred between them. All the parties were contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a medical assistance / arrest  — Officer received a report of a female who was unresponsive. The female was taken to E.R. by ambulance. During the officers investigation the female was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. After the female received medical attention she was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, use of a controlled substance, and possession of a dangerous drug The female was identified as Jasmine L. Bishop age 22 of Ely.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — Officer contacted the individual who was intoxicated. He was identified as David A. Alexander age 55 of Ely. Alexander was arrested on a probation violation

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of an individual yelling for help. Officer contacted the parties involved who denied and wrong doings. They were advised to keep the peace.

APRIL 4

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of two individuals causing a disturbance at a local motel. The individuals were contacted and trespassed from the motel. One of the individuals returned to the motel and she was arrested. She was identified as Sherri Smith age 40 of Opal WY. During the booking process Smith then struck a deputy. She was then arrested for battery on a peace officer while in lawful custody.

Report of a sexual assault / kidnapping — Reporting party stated that while she was in Wendover, NV she stopped her vehicle at a stop sign. Two females then entered into her vehicle and kidnapped her. She stated that one of the females then drove her car to the Ely area where she was sexual assaulted by the other female. . Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of several individuals screaming. Officer contacted the parties involved who were siblings arguing over breakfast. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a violation of a court order — Reporting party stated that an individual whom she has a protective order against keeps calling and texting her. Investigation continues

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that her renter allows other people to stay at the residence and also parks his motorcycle on the porch. The reporting party was advised this was a civil matter.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that an individual contacted her on Face Book about property he wanted back. Officer investigated the incident and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer received a report of several people looking into car windows. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Victor G. McQueen age 43 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I.

APRIL 5

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that John B. Thiessen age 50 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the individual who was playing his music to loud. He was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual who requested no assistance.

Report of suspicious item — Reporting party located a bottle with a white substance inside. The substance was checked and it was determined not to be a controlled substance. The item was destroyed.

Report of an open door — The residence was checked and the owner secured the door.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the investigation K.C. J. Valdez age 42 of Ruth was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his wife.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — Officer contacted the individual who was escorted to his motel room.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of several individuals involved in an argument. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

APRIL 6

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that two young girls have been entering into her yard and it appeared that one of them had dropped a letter. Officer inspected the letter which contained sexual comments. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check — The area was checked, but the individual was not located.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer contacted the parent of two juveniles who were running in and out of traffic. The parent was advised of the problem the juveniles were creating.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Scott A. Lee age 52 of Ely was arrested for suspended registration, no valid driver’s license, no insurance, and felony DUI.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Heidi M. Breitrick age 36 of Delta, UT was arrested on a Utah District Court warrant.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that when he drove over a manhole cover the cover flipped up striking the bumper of his vehicle causing damage. A report was completed.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a theft — Officer received a report of a theft from a motel room. When the officer contacted the victim he requested no investigation.

Report of a juvenile party — Officer reported that the area was patrolled, but no contact was made with anyone in the area.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that he had been struck by an unknown person. Officer contacted several individuals in the area who stated that the reporting party had been pushed. They stated that he had been pushed due to he was touching people. The incident was documented.

APRIL 7

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual knocking on doors at a local motel. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the motel.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that he had gotten into a fight with an individual and now he was wanting to kill that person. Officer assisted the individual to the local hospital for an evaluation and he was advised to stay away from the person he had the fight with.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer made contact with one of the individuals involved and advised him to keep the peace.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted Ely Mental Health on the transport of a subject that needed medical assistance.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that had taken place. Officer contacted the parties involved who advised they had been in a verbal argument. The parties were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officers received a report of an individual who had battered a person and damaged property at a local gas station. Officer located the individual and identified him as Jordan U. Edmo age 26 of Ely. Jordan Edmo was arrested for battery on a peace officer, intimidating a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer and disturbing the peace. Another individual who was present during the incident was identified as Kyle A. Edmo age 31 of Ely. He was arrested for disturbing the peace and obstructing a police officer.
