Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

APRIL 15

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog, but no one was home at the residence. Contact with the owner will be made at a later date.

Report of a fire — The call was handled by Ely Fire Department.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that some money was missing from his place of employment. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Ericson D. Skye age 34 of Ely was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that a renter had not moved out of the residence after being served with an eviction notice. The renter was contacted and served with a twenty four hour eviction notice.

Report of a truancy — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was truant from school. The juvenile was issued a citation for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had cut a tire on her vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that his ex-employer had damage this vehicle. Contact will be made with the ex-employer when located.

Report of a hit and run accident — Reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked in front of her home someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene.

Report of dog at large — The report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he left his phone in the restroom at a local casino. When he returned to get his phone it was gone.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone has been using his credit card without his permission. Investigation continues.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that a co-worker grabbed her and kissed her on the cheek. Contact will be made with the co-worker.

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled, but the dog when located was not barking.

APRIL 16

Report of a dog problem — A deputy observed a dog running at large.  The owner, identified as Albert Alexander, was contacted and issued a citation for dog at large and an unlicensed dog.

Report of a business license violation — A representative of the company suspected company was contacted and he advised they were in the process of acquiring the appropriate accreditation to continue their endeavor.

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed someone stole her car.  It was determined that the reporting party was intoxicated and the car had been “stolen” by her husband to keep her from driving whilst intoxicated.

APRIL 17

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an accident/arrest —  Officer received a report of a vehicle accident on SR 490. During the officer’s investigation the operator of the vehicle was identified as Daryl Tennant, age 38, of Ely. Tennant was arrested for D.U.I., open container, no insurance, and failure to maintain lane of travel.

Report of an accident/private property — Michelle Spear was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle behind her that belonged to Dale Worden. Spear’s vehicle struck Worden’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual was trespassing on his property. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that the mother of his children didn’t show up for child exchange. The incident was documented.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that a building at the McGill Park had been damaged. The incident was documented.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The area was patrolled but the vehicle was not located.

Report of found drug paraphernalia — Reporting party stated that while his children were riding their bikes, they located some drug paraphernalia. The items were collected and destroyed.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an individual who was traveling through the Ely area and needed a place to sleep.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who was parked in the area waiting for a friend.

APRIL 18

Report of a found wallet — Officer reported that the wallet was returned to the owner.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and made contact with the driver and passenger. The driver was identified as Jeremiah Corbin age 19 of Ely. Corbin was detained for zero tolerance and issued a citation for minor in consumption. A passenger in the vehicle was also issued a citation for minor in consumption.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she was having a problem with a house guest. The parties involved were contacted and they worked out their problems.

Report an accident — Reporting party stated that someone had struck her vehicle with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. A report was completed.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that there was an open window on a vacant home. The home was checked and no problems were located.

Report of stolen license plate — Reporting party stated that while visiting another town his license plate was stolen. A report was completed.

Report of an injured dog — Officer reported that a dog had been hit by a car. The owner of the dog arrived and took care of the dog.

Report of a dog at large — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised him to keep his dog contained.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that his juvenile daughter was having problems with a juvenile boy. The parents of the boy was contacted and advised of the ongoing situation.

Report of an open door — Reporting party stated that a door was open on a business that was closed for the weekend. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that something had struck her vehicle causing damage. The incident was documented.

Report of a fire — Officer received a report of a fire that had occurred near the Renaissance Village. During the investigation a local juvenile admitted to setting the fire. The fire was extinguished by the Ely Fire Department and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a fire — The report was given to BLM

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile threw a rock and broke his vehicle window. The father of the juvenile was contacted and advised of the situation.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had left a threatening message on her phone. Officers are attempting to contact the caller.

Report of an accident / private property — David Marckoski of Alberta was operating a vehicle traveling under an awning. The top of his vehicle struck the awning causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an individual who had locked his keys inside his vehicle.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Anthony Buckner-Apodaca age 28 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During his arrest he was also in possession of a dangerous drug.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that one of his employees stole some money from his business. Investigation continues.

Report of harassing phone calls — Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted telephone calls from an individual. The reporting party was advised to apply for a harassing order.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that an individual came to her home and has been trying to contact her of Face Book. The reporting party doesn’t want anything to do with the individual. Officers are attempting to locate the individual and advise her to stop all contact with the reporting party.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Emily E. Spoelstra age 21 of Ely was arrested for driving revoked.

APRIL 21

Report of a cow problem — Reporting party stated that some cows are pushing through his pasture fence and eating down his pasture. The cows belong to an individual who has range rights in the area. Officer is attempting to contact the owner of the cows.

Report of a welfare check — Officer located the individual and she was fine.

Report of an accident / private property — John Martin of McGill was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle behind him being operated by Jo Gubbine of McGill. Martin’s vehicle struck Gubbine’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a domestic battery — Reporting party stated that she had been battered by her boyfriend. The boyfriend had left the area and was not located. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident — Matthew Bicknette was operating a vehicle traveling on US 50 when he struck a deer with the vehicle he was operating. An accident report was completed.

Report of a dog bite — Officer received a report of a dog that had bitten a child. Officer reported that the dog belonged to the family of the child who had been bitten. The child received medical attention at E.R.
