Heather Sherrel Amans, age 67, passed away May 11, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born March 18, 1948 in San Francisco, California to William and Charlene Amans.
Heather spent many years working in California as the financial overseer of the family business. In Ely, she was an employee of the Ramada Inn/Cooper Queen Hotel and Casino for several years and was considered part of the Copper Queen family. Heather was well known for her attention to detail, fashion/design sense and vision. Heather even had her home featured in Better Homes and Gardens and Sunset magazines. She moved to Ely 25 years ago to her unique house on the hill, which was a labor of love. As a girl, Heather had visited Ely several times to see her Aunt Utahna. It was then that she fell in love with the area. Heather was an active member of the White Pine community and spent countless hours volunteering with the Historical Society, the Curly Horse Association, Support Incorporated and was a member of the Rotary. Heather loved history, antiques and all things shiny. She shared her talents and treasures with many, including donating several historical pictures of Ely’s history to the Historical Society.
Heather is proceeded in death by her parents, father William Francis Amans and mother Charlene Monica Amans.
She is survived by her brother William Norbert Amans and wife Valerie of Lakewood, CA; three nieces: Eden Charlene Amans, Mackenzie Elizabeth Amans and Piper Nicole Amans; and one nephew, Connor Evan Amans.
Heather will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. A celebration of life will be held for Heather at the Ramada Inn/Copper Queen Hotel and Casino on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 3 to 5pm.
