Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

MAY 13

Report of an accident / private property — Jack McInnis was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a parked vehicle behind him belonging to Tonia Edmo. McInnis vehicle struck Edmo’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several days ago an individual had made a threat towards an employee at her place of business. Officer contacted the individual and he was trespassed from the business establishment.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her vehicle and removed the radio. The incident was documented.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that his ex-wife had been taking his social security checks and depositing them. During the officers investigation it was determined that the parties are still legally married. Both parties were advised it was a civil problem.

Report of a citizen assist — Officer assisted an individual who was having problems establishing her place of residence. Assistance was provided.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Judy J. Valdez age 41 of Ruth was arrested on two District Court warrants and one Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an ATV problem — Officer patrolled the area and spoke to a father of a child who was riding a four wheeler in the surrounding area. He was advised of the complaint.

Report of a found license plate — The plate was returned to the owner.

Report of a building check — The building was checked and no problems were reported.

Report of an intoxicated person — Officer received a report of an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. Officer reported that the individual was given a ride home by a friend.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Rosella P. Whisler age 75 of Ely died at her residence of natural causes.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who was removing items from a rental home. Officer reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an open door — Officer checked the residence and secured the door.

MAY 14

Report of an arrest — 20 year old Tyshaun Tacheene, of Arizona, was arrested during a traffic stop for driving with a suspended license and vehicle registration.

Report of an attempt to locate — The reporting party called back and said she located the subject.

Report of found property — The reporting party located a purse outside a local eatery.  It was placed into lost and found.

Report of a problem with a subject — A male subject was allegedly begging for alms near a county building.  The subject was advised to move on, which he complied.

Report of a missing juvenile — The reporting party claimed her teenage son had not returned home.  The reporting party called back and advised he had returned.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was checked, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a disturbance — The reporting party claimed there was an unlawful party at a residence.  The house was checked and the party was unfounded.

MAY 15

Report of a fight — Officer located two individuals who were arguing and preparing to fight each other. The parties were separated and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a burglary — Reporting party stated that someone had broken into the money box at a local car wash. Investigation continues.

Report of a public nuisance — Officer contacted the owner of the property and advised him to clean up the garbage.

Report of an accident — Report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a sexual assault — Reporting party stated that her child had been sexually assaulted. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer reported that the parties involved had already separated and it appeared to be a verbal argument.

Report of a theft — Officer received a report of an individual stealing power from his neighbors home. When the individual is located he will be issued a citation for theft of utilities.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that he was chased by a dog that was running at large. The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Deborah L. Baker age 57 of Lund died at her residence of natural causes.

MAY 16

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Thomas M. Ross age 25 of Fernly, NV arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Christopher M. Wallace age 31 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Anthony W. Delgrande age 25 of Lund was arrested on a Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a welfare check — Reporting party stated that a child had been left in a car unattended. Officer contacted the parties involved who stated that the child had gone to the car to retrieve an item, No problems were located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupant of the vehicle, who was camping in the area.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual banging on a person’s door. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles trying to break into a home. Officers checked the home and found it to be secured. The juveniles were not located.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog, but the occupants were not at home. Contact will be made at a later date.

MAY 17 

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument over child care. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an accident — Noreen Fincher of Ely reported that her vehicle was parked and unoccupied at a local business parking lot. During this time period someone backed into it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle then fled the scene. An accident report was completed.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that her juvenile daughter had left their residence without permission and was misusing her phone and computer. Officer contacted the juvenile and documented the problems with Juvenile Probation.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of a music disturbance taking place at a local residence. Officer contacted the occupant of the home and advised him of the complaint. He was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual living in a condemned building. Officer contacted the individual and advised him he could not stay there. The individual gathered his belonging and left the area.

MAY 18

Report of an attempted fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had attempted to gain a credit card in one of his family’s names. A report was completed and the credit card company was informed.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her medication from her home. The incident was documented.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she is being harassed at work by her supervisor. Officer contacted the working establishment and advised them of the situation.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he was to take possession of a vehicle belonging to a family member. The individual that was supposed to bring the vehicle to him never showed up. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of suspicious activity — Reporting party stated that an individual was trying to exchange a large amount of coin for currency. The incident was documented.

Report of an injured juvenile — Officer received a report of a juvenile who was pushed down by another juvenile that caused him to break his wrist. The parties involved were contacted and gave conflicting statements. Investigation continues.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that her son’s bike had been stolen. The incident was documented.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that while his vehicle was parked at a local parking lot someone struck it with their door to another vehicle.  The incident was documented.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Lynn Gregersen age 79 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.

MAY 19

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his motel room and stole several items. Investigation continues.

Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a business that was closed for the day. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of a strange smell — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Mara L. Vasquez age 32 of Elko, NV was arrested on an Elko Township Justice Court warrant.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a possible theft — Reporting party stated that her son bought a watch from a friend and she believe the watch might have been stolen.  Investigation continues.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted text messages from her ex-boyfriend. Officers are attempting to locate the ex-boyfriend.
