Cathy Beckwith is the KDSS Angel in Disguise for April. Beckwith was nominated by several anonymous people.

Beckwith is seen by many as an angel, mother, grandmother and savior. She is the only administrative assistant at McGill Elementary and often is the only person in the office, so she has to wear many hats. Beckwith has had a huge impact not only on her community but to those she comes in contact with everyday, such as the children at McGill Elementary. She has taught children valuable life lessons that has helped them become more happy and positive people by installing morals and values and an understanding of their own self-worth. These are lessons that will last them a lifetime. She provides to those children in need, whether it be something as small as a pair of socks or something much bigger such as a pair of glasses or dental work. She usually arrives to school early and leaves late just to make sure all the children make it to school and home safely. Ms. Cathy does not limit her help to children but also helps families. She has provided Christmas to families in need, gas for families who have needed to travel for medical emergencies, laundry soap and clothes and the list goes on.

Cathy received a recognition award and a bouquet of flowers, a park bench, a $100 gift certificate to the Jailhouse Cell Block, a $100 gift certificate to Untamed Optionz, a pedicure spa gift certificate from Breann at Untamed Optionz.

The Angel in Disguise program would not be able to award these difference making individuals without the help of local sponsors. Thr program would like to thank KDSS, the White Pine Chamber of Commerce, Bath Lumber, Breann Christensen of Untamed Optionz and all the other donors for helping to make this program a reality.

KDSS would also like to extend a “huge thank you” to the McGill Elementary Principal and the staff and students for making this a huge success and keeping this a secret.

If you or anyone you know would like to be a sponsor please call KDSS office at 775-289-6474 or donate through the GoFundMe at http://www.gofundme.com/ljmbfo. Donors can also stop by anytime at 466 Aultman Street. Any help is appreciated.
