Dean J. Stathos, age 77, a resident of Reno, passed away suddenly on May 11 after a brief illness.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Stathos and a niece, Connie Lujano Walker.

Dean was born on August 27, 1937 in Ely, Nevada to the late James K. and Mildred Stathos.  Dean attended schools in McGill, Nevada and graduated from White Pine High School.  In 1966 he moved to Reno and he eventually retired from the Nevada Department of Transportation.

One of the many loves of his life was to coach Little League and Babe Ruth baseball to local youth.  He enjoyed hunting and thoroughly enjoyed and supported the University of Nevada athletic programs and was an avid San Francisco Giants fan.

Dean is survived by his siblings Tessie Lujano of Reno, Peggy Prisbrey (Dan) of Reno and Jim Stathos (Sid Clark) of Grover Beach, CA, and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Dean requested no formal services.  The family will share in a private celebration of his life at a future date.  Stathos1
