Life-long McGill resident, ALBERT G. WRIGHT, 95, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Highland Manor in Elko, Nevada.
Albert was born March 10, 1920 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Albert and Jessie Wright. The family moved to Steptoe, Nevada in 1927 and operated the Mercantile Store in partnership with Albert’s uncle.
Albert was employed by Kennecott on June 1, 1940, retiring January 1, 1976. McGill was alway home to Albert, and “He never knew a stranger there”.
Albert married Florence Burdick on June 16, 1941. Shortly after, he joined the Army and served during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Albert is survived by his brother, Jess Wright and three children, Donna (Art) Olson, Al Wright, Shoane (Doug) Egbert, and daughter-in-law, Linda Wright.; grandchildren include: Marcie (Greg) Colton, Abby Olson, Jason Egbert, Jacque (Craig) Bell Randy (Amy) Wright, and Julie (Kerry) Miles. Albert also boasted 10 great-grandchildren.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife; son, Michael; brothers, E,J. Wright, Ferrol Wright; and sisters, Velma Hutchinson, and LaVern Dalton.
By his personal request, no public service is planned.
