JUNE 17

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that there was an individual wandering around on another person’s property. Officer located the person who stated that she used to live in the area. She was advised to leave the property.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that she had been terminated from her employment and hasn’t received her last pay check. The employer was contacted who refused to provide any information. Reporting party was advised to continue her claim through civil court.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that several juveniles had damaged several items at a local school. Investigation continues.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he had several stadium chairs stolen from his yard. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local business. The individual was contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual comes into her place of employment and disturbs other customers. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the business.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that her juvenile son had been battered by another juvenile. Investigation continues.

Report of vandalism — Officer received a report of damage to a vacant building. The building was checked and a piece of plywood covering a window had fallen off. The plywood was re-secured.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several people were at his home and were refusing to leave. Officer contacted the individuals and advised them to leave the property.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the parties involved who blamed each other for causing the disturbance. The parties then separated and left the area.

Report of an accident — Gregorio Zaragoza of Reno was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle which was behind him being operated by Jason Dingess of Ely. Zaragoza vehicle struck Dingess vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Zaragoza was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

Report of a problem with a gas pump — Reporting party stated that she filled her vehicle up with gas at a local gas pump and noticed that the amount of fuel provided was inaccurate. She also stated that she was over billed for the amount of fuel. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual at a local motel was causing a disturbance with another guest. The individual was contacted and advised to return to his room and to keep the peace.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individuals involved who were playing games. They were advised to keep the noise down.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no disturbance was located.

Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door secured.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an employee that had been terminated from his employment and was causing a disturbance. When officers arrived the individual had left the business.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog, but the owner was not at home. Contact with the owner will be made when at a later date.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a fight — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that several juveniles had fought over a ball. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he loaned a friend some money and that she allowed him to hold onto her phone until she paid him back. The friend now wanted her phone back. The reporting party was advised to return the phone and the money owed was a civil problem.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Isaac M. Wheeler age 21 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a violation of a protective order — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that no violation had occurred.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the night.

Report of an accident / private property — Gary W. Davis of Eads CO. was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a vehicle behind him which was parked and unoccupied belonging to Wayne J. Hawkins of Jerome, ID. Davis vehicle struck Hawkins vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop Thomas Olsen age 27 and Angel Shaquanie age 23 both of Bellingham WA were arrested. Olsen was arrested for basic speed, possession of marijuana, trafficking cocaine, transporting a controlled substance, and possession of cocaine to sell. Shaquanie was arrested for possession of marijuana, trafficking cocaine, transporting a controlled substance, and possession of cocaine to sell.

Report of a found gun — Reporting party located a gun inside a bag that had been left at a local parking lot. The owner of the gun was located and the item was returned.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she was selling a property and an individual was causing a disturbance. The individual was contacted and advised to stay away from the seller.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of an argument that was taking place at a local residence. When officers arrived no one was in the area.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that his barbeque had been stolen from his residence. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Tiesha M. Tognoni age 34 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an unattended child — Reporting party stated that a small child had been dropped off at the pool. The mother of the child was located and advised to pick up her child. Officers spoke to the mother and advised her of the consequence of leaving the child alone.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a disturbance taking place at a local motel. Officer patrolled the area, but the disturbance was not located.

Report of a trespasser — Officer received a report of several individuals at a local apartment complex that were not supposed to be there. The individuals were contacted and trespassed from the area.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a welfare check — The person was contacted and she was fine.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that he was to have his children for visitation this weekend, but the mother of his children was refusing to provide them. The reporting party was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of an accident — Daniel L Jensen of Arlington, TX. was operating a vehicle on US 6 when he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that the father of her child took their child and is refusing to return him. The father was contacted and the child was returned to the mother.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance at a local motel. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the property.

Report of a welfare check / death — Officer received a report to do a welfare check on an individual who had not been in contact with his family for several days. Officer located the individual deceased in his home. He was identified as Garland L. Miller age 82 of McGill. Miller had died due to natural causes.

Report of an accident — Logan Urrizaga was operating a vehicle on US 50 when he swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle he was operating collided with a guard rail causing damage to the vehicle and the guard rail. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM

City — reporting party stated that a juvenile was causing a disturbance by calling him rude names. The area was patrolled, but the juvenile was not located.

City — officer received a report of several juveniles riding skateboards in the roadway and into traffic. The juveniles were contacted and advised to stay off the roadway.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that a family member had taken his horse without his permission. Officer investigated the incident and reported that no crime had occurred. The horse doesn’t belong to the reporting party.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted with an individual who was threatening suicide. Medical assistance was provided.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that Jose R. Fuentes age 33 of Ely was arrested for D.U.I. Another party involved was identified as Casandra A. Glass. She was arrested for a probation violation.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that he had just ended his relationship with his girlfriend who resides with him and he wanted her out of the home. The reporting party was advised of the eviction process.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that he was trying to contact his children who live with their mother, but he was unable to reach them by phone. Officer reported that the mother and children were not in the Ely area.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that a lawn mowing company was mowing the neighbor’s yard when a rock flipped up striking a window on his vehicle, breaking it. The incident was documented.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Brandi Butcher age 18 of Ely was arrested on a Nye County warrant.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that the father of her child had taken the child and refuses to return him. Officer contacted the father of the child who stated that the reporting party was using drugs and didn’t want the baby around her. The incident was documented and both parties were advised to obtain a custody order.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that he was to have his child for father’s day, but he can’t reach the child’s mother. Officer attempted to locate the mother, but was unsuccessful. The incident was documented.

Report of an ambulance assist — Officer assisted with an individual who had used a controlled substance and was incoherent. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of found bikes — The bikes were placed into lost and found.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a reckless driver — The operator of the vehicle was contacted who denied the allegation. The operator was issued a warning.

Report of a battery — Officer contacted the reporting party who gave several different stories about how the battery happened. No action was taken. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident — Mark Chapelle of Sparks, NV was operating a vehicle on US 6 when he struck an antelope, causing damage to his vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted hospital staff with a patient that was being uncooperative.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that the father of her child was threatening to take the child from her. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several individuals were banging on her door and windows. Officer contacted the individuals who stated that they had gone to the residence because the reporting party was late for work. The parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that someone has been coming around his home and causing problem. He stated that someone had walked on his vehicle and removed items from his yard. The incident was documented.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that she received a telephone call from a person who had threatened to harm her. Investigation continues.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were traveling through the Ely area. They had been engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer reported that he observed a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Joseph E. Creaghe age 29 of Ely was arrested for domestic battery.   He is accused of battery on the mother of his children.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that she had sold a trailer to a family member and he took it out of state. The reporting party stated that she has not received payment for the trailer. She was advised it was a civil problem.

Report of an accident — Preston Sterling reported that while operating a vehicle on US 6 he struck a deer causing damage to the vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her vehicle and stole her wallet, a firearm, and other person property. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — Officer provided the information to the responsible agency located in another state.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that he observed an individual destroy the flowers in one of the planters located in the City of Ely. The individual was identified as Neil E. Duff age 28 of Ely. Duff was arrested for destruction of property.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and advised him of the complaint. He removed the vehicle from the area.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that his neighbor’s dog was acting aggressive towards one of his family members. The neighbor was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual had stolen several items. When officers arrived the reporting party stated that the items had been returned.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Reporting party stated that she was at a friend’s home when the parents of the friend began arguing. Reporting party provided other information about the incident which will be investigated.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that her internet receiver had been stolen. Officer reported that the receiver possibly was picked up and moved to another location by the provider.

Report of a welfare check — The children were contacted and were fine.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual who had taken an excess of prescription medication. He was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted D.C.F.S. on a home visit.
