The White Pine Historical Railroad Foundation Management Board has dismissed their lawsuit against the City of Ely and Railroad Board of Trustees according to City Attorney Chuck Odgers. The lawsuit has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning the Management Board cannot file on the same causes of action. The only remaining outstanding issues  that remain with the lawsuit are settling the cost of attorney’s fees.

“This is a big weight off of the citizens of Ely. It is meant to bring everybody back together for the best interest of the railroad,” Odgers said, adding “Now we can start healing the wounds that have been caused by this lawsuit.”

Limited information was available about the decision to dismiss the lawsuit as this was a late-breaking story. A complete story will be available in next week’s Ely Times.
