The July Fourth reunions and festivities ended, and I understand it was very successful. I think it is always to nice seeing people who were born here, come back and visit with each other and their old friends. Our thanks to the committee who worked so hard to put it all together.
Besides a successful fundraiser breakfast at the Senior Center on Friday, July 3rd, a great time was had by all renewing old friendships and making new ones. Such a successful event would not have been possible without the many hands that helped.
Ely Lions Club – cooking crew, Lori & Bernie Romero, Silvana Ricci, Doug Kay, Jeanette Ricci, Kathy Ricci, Nick Ricci, Mary Basso, Cierra Basso, Lisa Davis, Cindy Bell, Gretchen & Jay Derbidge, Girl Scouts Troop #405 and Leaders.

At the same time commemorative glasses were being sold at the Sculpture Park and thanks to the Crew.
Carolyn Merrill, Judy Neilsen, Toni Sperry, Kathy, Mary, Cierra Basso, and Jeanette Ricci. We still have glasses for sale and all proceeds go to the Senior Center.
The Senior Center has also had surprising donations this month. You may have seen the pictures in the paper, $2500.00 from Barrick North America Mining. It is wonderful to witness the mines giving to the community in the way of employment, and the support for many community entities. Thank you to our friends and community supporters.
On Monday night a RSVP Awards Dinner was held at Margaritas, with about 30 people attending. The meal was excellent, as was the company of fellow volunteers. I enjoyed the visit from our Carson City Office who presented the awards to the volunteers. A complete list of honoree will be in the next article. We would like to thank all the volunteers we have for their time and help to our community.

July 20th – Chicken Florentine Soup, Grilled Cheese sandwich, and fruit.
July 21st – Pizza, Green Salad, and fruit.
July 22nd – Oven Fried Chicken, Baked Potato, Peas & Carrots, and Jello/Fruit.
July 23rd – Hot Turkey Sand., Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Veggies, and Fruit.
July 24th – Sloppy Joe, Baby Carrots, Celery Sticks, and Apple Crisp.
